David Luiz is down again after an accidental collision with Stoke striker Saido Berahino. The Chelsea defender is winded, but he is OK after being given a moment.

Phil Bardsley has kicked Diego Costa right on the outside of the knee and taken the Chelsea striker down.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has set his team out to do a specific thing...and it is working.

Briefly, a football match threatens to break out; Pedro has a sight of goal as Stoke struggle to clear a long ball - but the striker clears the bar by some distance.

Diego Costa, as Steve Bower's comments indicate, is back with us after his treatment, and winding up everyone within a 100-yard radius.

Four added minutes at the end of the first half.

There is a slight nudge in the back of Jon Walters and Gary Cahill also stands on his ankle I think.

    No doubt of the penalty.

Meantime, Diego Costa is in the wars again. The Chelsea striker is left in a heap by Phil Bardsley's robust challenge, and needs treatment on his right knee. I'm afraid that BBC guidelines prevent me from relating exactly what the Stoke fans are chanting at him, but it's not complimentary.

    Stoke 1-1 Chelsea

Despite Chris Waddle's comments, Stoke had shown signs of promise in the past few minutes - but their equaliser has a whiff of controversy about it. Jon Walters goes to ground as a free-kick floats through to keeper Thibaut Courtois, and referee Taylor rules that Gary Cahill has pushed him in the back.

Walters keeps cool and slams the penalty high to the keeper's right. We're all square.

You've got to say Stoke are second best in all areas of the park and they really have been giving the ball away so cheaply, but Chelsea are full of confidence and can look after it when it's theirs.

Having said that, Diego Costa is going to get himself a red card if he keeps going this way.

  11. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 34 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Chelsea

This is interesting. Bruno Martins Indi heads in following a Stoke corner, and assistant Adam Nunn raises his flag to disallow the goal. At first, it looks like it has been ruled out for offside, but Martins Indi is clearly onside - so Anthony Taylor runs over to Nunn to ask why he's flagged. It turns out Saido Berahino pushed Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta off the ball. Right decision, but it took a while to get there.

Diego Costa, I can report, is continuing to play the pantomime villain role to perfection. Now the Chelsea striker tumbles to the ground off the ball and is told to get to his feet by referee Anthony Taylor.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 29 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Chelsea

...The ball is played short to Pedro, who chips in, Stoke do not clear, and Marcos Alonso lashes at goal from 10 yards. It's straight at Lee Grant, who reacts well to block - but had the shot been either side of the keeper, he would have had no chance.

  14. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Chelsea

Chelsea looking pretty comfortable at the moment, enjoying plenty of the ball. Willian delivers a deep corner, David Luiz joins the attack and keeps the pressure on, until eventually, Phil Bardsley hacks down Nemanja Matic by the corner flag. Another Chelsea free-kick out wide, and again Willian is behind it...

  15. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Chelsea

A collision between Stoke striker Jon Walters and Chelsea centre-back David Luiz leaves both players on the ground. Walters has taken a blow to the forehead, Luiz to his left shoulder. Both players are back on their feet after treatment, though, and able to continue.

I've just seen a replay of that dive from Diego Costa and it is absolutely ridiculous - it warranted that yellow card on its own.

He is trying to unsettle anyone in a red and white shirt but he has to concentrate on his football because at the moment he is not helping his team-mates.

And now we see the better side of Costa. A perfectly weighted diagonal pass feeds Willian, who could go for goal himself. Instead, there's a sublime backheel for Victor Moses to shoot, but his effort is blocked.

  19. Hughes on Costapublished at 20 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Chelsea

I mentioned earlier that Stoke manager Mark Hughes has spoken warmly of Costa, not just because of his talent, but because of the way he roughs up defenders. Hughes, a fearsome striker in his day, sees a bit of his own style in the way that Costa plays.

"People criticise him or question his approach but I was a bit like him in my attitude to going about my game," Hughes said back in December. "Sometimes he gets his retaliation in first, which is probably what I did too."

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16 mins

    Stoke 0-1 Chelsea

Diego Costa is in a funny old mood today. The striker claims he is having his shirt tugged by Bruno Martins Indi, then tumbles over theatrically, then gives Anthony Taylor a mouthful after being refused a free-kick. The referee, his patience stretched, flashes the yellow card. Costa must now go 74 minutes without collecting another. I wouldn't like to bet on it.

Stoke midfielder Joe Allen has also gone into the book for a foul.
