Well it wasn't pretty but it was effective.
Clucas' cross into the area was not dealt with by the home defence and the ball eventually broke to Harry Maguire, who fired an untidy effort into the turf and past Lee Grant via a deflection off Ryan Shawcross.
In Hull's position you'll take them however they come, and that was as untidy as it gets.
