Mark Fryer: Dan Petrescu & Nicky Barmby?

WRONG! We have one Twitterer with the right answer....gold star to Matt Wigmore who correctly guessed it was Nicky Barmby and a very young Jody Morris!

  2. Can Boro overturn the odds?published at 19:37 British Summer Time 8 May 2017

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

A Chelsea win tonight moves them to within one win of the Premier League title - and would relegate Middlesbrough.

Chelsea's march to the title has seemed inevitable for a while but there will be so much disappointment at Boro that a season that started with promise looks certain to end with a return to the Championship.

The Teessiders have simply failed to threaten in attack and their fate was sealed in many ways by the failure of January signings Patrick Bamford from Chelsea and Aston Villa's Rudy Gestede.

Sadly, they are not strikers of Premier League class.

    Chelsea v Middlesbrough (20:00 BST)

    • Chelsea have won seven successive meetings without conceding a goal, including the last six Premier League encounters.
    • Middlesbrough have gone 18 league matches without a victory at Stamford Bridge since a 2-1 top-flight triumph in March 1975 (D6, L12).
    • Boro have only scored five times in those games, and none in the last seven visits.

Gold star for anyone who tweets #bbcfootball with the names of these two from Chelsea v Boro back in 1996...

If like me you were too young (ahem), it was Middlesbrough who sent Chelsea down to the Second Division at Stamford Bridge in a the lesser-spotted relegation play-offs.

Journalist Sam Morshead has brought you the full story in the Daily Mail, external, including some pretty graphic photos of the trouble it caused among fans.

I am surprised, especially after the big names they have signed including some who have played in the Premier League before.

Everyone knows how hard the Premier League is and often foreign players take a bit longer to get used to this league, so I think that is probably one of the reasons [they are in this position].

    Chelsea v Middlesbrough (20:00 BST)

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Leicester striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a forlorn task for Middlesbrough to come to Stamford Bridge and expect to get a result tonight.

You just have to weigh up Chelsea's home form compared to Middlesbrough's away form but stranger things have happened.

We have seen it before and Middlesbrough will have a right go tonight.

They literally have nothing to lose because Chelsea just need to play well and if they are beaten, they are relegated so what more do you have to play for than that?

  10. How did they end up down there?published at 19:14 British Summer Time 8 May 2017

    Chelsea v Middlesbrough (20:00 BST)

It started pretty well for Middlesbrough on their return to the Premier League.

Under Aitor Karanka, they were unbeaten in the league in August, but then they went on the slide.

Karanka was sacked in March after 10-game winless run, which left them three points from safety.

They finally got their first win of the year against Sunderland at the end of last month, but it looks like too little too late.

Boro are also the lowest scorers in the league with 26 goals.

After Tottenham lost at West Ham on Friday, Chelsea are now only two wins away from securing their fifth Premier League title.

Antonio Conte's side have taken 81 points from 34 matches, equalling the final tally by champions Leicester City last season.

Win at home tonight and they could have their name on the trophy on Friday against West Brom.

This story popped up earlier and I've not been able to stop thinking about it since.

An Iranian student had to be taken to a police station at the weekend - because he looks too much like Lionel Messi.

He looks more like Messi than Messi! It's remarkable. He's the one on the left of the picture, btw.

Chelsea pair David Luiz and N'Golo Kante are injury doubts.

Luiz fell awkwardly towards the end of last week's 3-0 victory over Everton, while Kante has a thigh problem.

Middlesbrough pair Grant Leadbitter and Adlene Guedioura have returned to training after respective hamstring and groin injuries and could be involved.

Gaston Ramirez is likely to miss out with a pelvic problem, while Victor Valdes and Daniel Ayala remain doubts.
