Arsenal boosted their Champions League hopes with a deserved victory over out-of-form West Ham, who are in real relegation trouble. 

After a quiet first half, Mesut Ozil, on his 150th appearance for the Gunners, fired home from the edge of the box after being gifted possession by Jose Fonte. 

And the German, after playing a one-two with Alexis Sanchez, crossed for Theo Walcott - captain for the day in the absence of the injured Laurent Koscielny - to turn home from eight yards out. 

And substitute Olivier Giroud curled in a fantastic third after being picked out by fellow substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

It's all over, a good day for Arsenal. But another night to forget for West Ham.

Arsenal want a late penalty as Nacho Monreal goes down in the box after being caught by Sam Bryam. He can't believe it hasn't been given. Neither can I. Byram got a lot of shin and not much ball.

It's all Arsenal - this could actually end up three or four now. Alexis Sanchez plays a ball over the top, no defenders to be seen. Well one defender - but he's an Arsenal one. Hector Bellerin turns it wide from 12 yards out though.

West Ham are three points above the relegation zone as things stand.

Danny Welbeck shoots into the side-netting. It is fairly one-way traffic now.

A bit of a surprising switch as Andy Carroll comes off for West Ham. On in his place is Diafra Sakho, who makes his first appearance since November following a back injury.

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is booked for chopping down Robert Snodgrass. He's not happy because he won the ball. But he did get a lot of Scottish leg too.
