Kylian Mbappe dances into the penalty area again and almost teases another penalty out of Sven Bender on this occasion. You can't touch him. And you can't really get near him.

He only turned 18 in December. The future is stellar.

    Borussia Dortmund 0-1 Monaco

Monaco are bringing their exciting, upsetting world tour to Germany. They rocked it in Manchester, now they are distressing Dortmund.

A cracking run from Bernardo Silva opens the game up and sends in Thomas Lemar on the left of the area, he hits either a horrible shot or a fantastic cross across goal, and it hits Kylian Mbappe on the thigh and goes in.

The youngster was maybe offside too. A stroke of luck, but great attacking play...

That could be a huge moment in this tie. You can't miss the target from a penalty surely!

It was brilliant play from Kylian Mbappe though, he had no right really to get past Scrabble score Sokratis Papastathopoulos but he did.

So fast and strong. And he's in again - but can't find a team-mate.

HUGE! A huge moment as Fabinho steps up - and pulls the penalty wide!

    A really poor effort.

They play again next Wednesday though Dave, I'm not sure when else this could have been scheduled.

Dortmund have started impressively on the ball anyway. Just like a usual home game in fact.

Dave Payn: Feel for Tuchel. BVB should have been given more time to get players fit. It isn't Dortmund's fault that Bartra is injured.

And now a chance for Monaco! They work the ball out right, a fine cross comes over and Thomas Lemar heads high and over.

It was too high for him, and Radamel Falcao was free behind him. Where was the shout?!

  10. CLOSE!published at 10 mins

Ousmane Dembele likes to tackle back, he was a bit fortunate not to be carded against Benfica, and he slides through from the wrong side again to foul Kamil Glik.

He's a rough diamond, Dembele. Still only young and a long way from the finished article, but he's got plenty about his game.

And there's the first chance! Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang peels into the right-hand channel and fires an early shot over the bar. Tough angle. Top run.

Dortmund with 70%+ of possession, Monaco looking to slice through on the counter. The die has been cast.

Kylian Mbappe gets an early touch and forces Julian Wiegl into a rash challenge. Mbappe even runs like Thierry Henry doesn't he? It's uncanny.

The fans in the Yellow Wall are spelling out BVB in black and yellow pac-a-macs. Superb.

The ground is bouncing now, that early lack of atmosphere already forgotten as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang threatens through the middle, Kamil Glik saves the day for Monaco.

Andrew Preistley: Given the attacking pedigree of these two teams, this game could resemble a game of basketball more than a football match!

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's first touch is a poor one as he gives it away as Dortmund look to dominate possession. That's their style.

Against Benfica in the last round Aubameyang scored very early on and Dortmund never looked back.

No sign of nerves or tension so far.

This is the first time these two sides have met and Thomas Tuchel is fuming on the sideline inside a minute.

Counterpart Leonardo Jardim looks an oasis of calm in contrast.

Let's keep an eye on Kylian Mbappe up front for Monaco. The new Thierry Henry?

Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel has told German TV that he would rather not be playing today, he wanted more time, but schedules didn't allow for that.

'You'll Never Walk Alone' is belted out at full volume by the capacity crowd inside the Westfalenstadion. As fitting as it gets on a night like this.
