I thought we started well but we struggled to keep possession of the ball after that. Congratulations to Linfield though. We couldn't cope with them for a 20-minute spell in the first half. A goal in the second half could have dragged us back into it but it wasn't to be.

The celebrations are in full swing at Windsor Park.

The cup has been handed over and the players and staff are out on the pitch parading the trophy and taking the acclaim of their fans, who have unusually been somewhat success starved in recent years.

That's eight wins in nine Irish Cup finals for the Blues now and they will hope to build on their successes now by claiming more trophies next season.

A champagne occasion for Linfield as they celebrate a convincing cup final victory over Coleraine whose dejected players are applauding their fans down at the old Kop end. The celebrations are about to start for Linfield after a sensational second half of the season - now unbeaten in 20 matches. Hat-trick hero Andrew Waterworth will be the toast of Windsor tonight - but the striker’s party doesn’t stop here. Next weekend he’s off with Linfield team-mates and other pals for his own stag celebrations in Malaga!

This final was all about redeeming ourselves after we underperformed this time last year. I thought we were by far the better side and deserved winners today, it was a good performance from us. I'm so privileged to be manager of this club and work with the calibre of players that I have.

This is very, very special. We knew we had to perform to our highest standard to overcome a good Coleraine side. We hit the ground running in the first half and learnt from the disappointments of last season. We have gone on an incredible run and the squad has confidence in abundance at the moment.

Coleraine may as well have a go here. If you end up losing, you should at least have the consolation of knowing that you gave it everything.
