  2. What an effortpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

    This is a great achievement.

Around 24 Burnley fans set off from Turf Moor on Wednesday and spent three days cycling towards Bournemouth FC’s Vitality Stadium.

Well, they have safely reached their target.

The riders are raising money for Burnley vice-chairman Barry Kilby, who is suffering from prostate cancer.

Bournemouth are definitely staying up, and Burnley are effectively safe too because their goal difference means Hull won't catch them.

So both teams could be forgiven if they were on their holidays, because survival is a great achievement for both.

Burnley's form has picked up in the past couple of weeks but Bournemouth always look good going forward and they will be confident of getting a goal, so let's go for a draw.

  7. 'We try to improve every year'published at 14:45 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

    Bournemouth v Burnley (15:00 BST)

Bournemouth's finish of 16th in the Premier League last season is the highest in their history, but a victory today would ensure they better that.

"We will try and go as strong as we can, to finish as high up the league as we can, so there is a big incentive for us, for a whole host of reasons," Howe said.

"We try to improve every year, that has been our big way of working really, trying to develop players to improve the team and step by step we have been able to do that.

"This year the objective was to do the same, to improve on the 42 points and 16th (place) which we had achieved the season before. Now we have got two games left to try to do that."

  8. 'We can talk as if we are there'published at 14:41 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

    Bournemouth v Burnley (15:00 BST)

Burnley manager Sean Dyche is hoping he can relax and enjoy this game.

“There’s still that little question to get it mathematically done but with the big swing that’s involved I think we can talk about it as if we are there and I think these games now are to be enjoyed – professionally enjoyed,” Dyche told the Burnley website., external

“Everybody knows we want to finish seasons strong. We have done it in all of my time here so we want to do that again but it’s good for the fans.

“We got a big win at Crystal Palace and now we have the chance to go down there and it’s one for professional enjoyment because we still want to win."

  9. How they standpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

This is the situation in the Premier League after Manchester City's narrow 2-1 win over Leicester in the early game.

Even the most anxious Burnley fan can see that their side are safe from relegation.

Hull and Swansea would both have to win both of their games, Crystal Palace would have to get two points and, crucially, Hull would also have to overturn a goal difference deficit of minus 19 in only two games. It won't happen.

But a top-half finish for either Bournemouth or Burnley is still very much possible.

  12. Hellopublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

Hello, thanks for joining us. Good afternoon and welcome to BBC Sport's live text commentary as Bournemouth entertain Burnley.

So let's start with some team news.

  13. Bournemouth's best ever season?published at 14:24 British Summer Time 13 May 2017

In 2008-09, Bournemouth were facing the biggest crisis in their history. A 17-point deduction and the team, in the fourth tier of English football, were in desperate trouble of dropping out of the Football League.

Then Eddie Howe took over. From being 10 points adrift at the foot of the table, he managed to keep them in the Football League, with the club winning their last three games to stay up.

That all seems a long, long time ago now.

Howe took Bournemouth into the third tier, then, after a spell in charge at Burnley, returned to take them firstly into the Championship and then the Premier League. A win today against Howe's former side will guarantee the Cherries their best ever finish in English football.
