Will there be a goal before the whistle?

Not at this rate to be honest.

  2. CLOSE!published at 41 mins

    Burnley 0-0 West Brom

Jay Rodriguez flicks the ball on from a corner and it comes off Craig Dawson's body and over the bar - the defender was only about three yards out!

The Baggies' best effort since James McClean's strike early on.

The Baggies have some light relief - a corner...

Sam Field is putting his stamp on the game, he’s only a young lad and he’s still learning. He’s got a lot to learn but he’s a good player, a good prospect.

Albion are just arguing with themselves, they need to pick up a little bit. Burnley from a corner get themselves in a little huddle and then disperse in different directions and they’re hard to pick up.

It’s a keen game, both sides are now competing every time the opposition get the ball, they’re closing them down. There’s not a lot of time on the ball at the moment. It’s very hurry scurry!

  5. CLOSE! TWICE!published at 34 mins

    Burnley 0-0 West Brom

Possibly the best effort of the match.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson - or Johann Berg Gudmundsson for short - fires a low 20-yard curling effort that flirts with Ben Foster's right-hand upright.

    Scrambling.

Moments later the Iceland international gets his head to a cross from the left.

Fozzer dives low and plucks the ball - it was going wide anyway.

By the way, if you've got West Ham's Marko Arnautovic in your fantasy team...

  6. Hendrick again!!published at 27 mins

    Burnley 0-0 West Brom

Johann Berg Gudmunsson sends in an in-swinger and the ball comes off the head of Gary 'Gareth' Barry for a corner. He's still not picked up a yellow. Disappointing.

The first goes out for another corner.

The second arrives at the feet of Jeff Hendrick, who this time sees his shot blocked.

The Republic of Ireland player has been involved a lot these first 27 minutes - trying to impress someone Jeff?

WBA defender Ahmed Hegazi receives more treatment on the cut near his eye. Have Burnley got a pharmacy outside Turf Moor?

Can Hegazi get on the end of a set-piece this week and get another goal?

The Albion have got options now because Jay Rodriguez is prepared to turn and run behind the opposition defences - we haven’t really seen that in recent seasons.

  9. A bit betterpublished at 18 mins

    Burnley 0-0 West Brom

Jeff Hendrick does a heck of a lot better with an 18-yard effort that whistles past Ben Foster's far post.

The keeper had it covered, tbh.

We'd had a bit of a five-min lull up until then.

    Burnley 0-0 West Brom

Jay Rodriguez tried one of those near-post flick volleys from the corner, but it didn't come off.

JRod is obviously still a big favourite around these parts.

    Burnley 0-0 West Brom

First time I've had a look at Ahmed Hegazi(y). He definitely looks like he could handle himself at a New Year's sales opening day.

Now there's claret near his eyebrow. No, not a Burnley player but actual blood.

He's receiving treatment and now racing into the Burnley area to try to get on the end of a corner.

  13. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Burnley 0-0 West Brom

    A chance for Burnley!

    Clutching at straws, admittedly.

Jeff Hendrick smacks a half-volley from 25 yards, but applies a touch of spanner which sees the ball drifts aimlessly high of Ben Foster's bar.

  14. GREAT BLOCK!published at 2 mins

    Burnley 0-0 West Brom

    Yikes!

    Early chance for West Brom.

James McClean pickpockets Matt Lowton on the left, runs into the area and fires a low-angled shot that is blocked by James Tarkowski.

    Well done, Tarkowski.

We are under way at a sun-baked Turf Moor.

    It's actually not that tropical.

What a career. Today he makes his debut for his fourth Premier League side.

  17. 'Pulis will be optimistic'published at 14:57 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

Burnley v West Brom (15:00 BST)

    Martin Fisher
    Match of the Day commentator

"While West Brom's 1-0 success over Bournemouth was predicted by many, Burnley's triumph at Chelsea certainly wasn't.

"Inevitably, much of the analysis that followed was devoted to the champions' shortcomings but that doesn't detract from the quality Sean Dyche's team displayed.

"It's very encouraging for a side who struggled on the road last season. Ten home victories were the foundation for their survival, although Albion were not among those vanquished sides and have never lost to Burnley in the Premier League.

"The last two meetings at Turf Moor have finished 2-2 and, with Gareth Barry now on board, Tony Pulis will be optimistic of coming home with a valuable point again."

  19. £30m for Sakho?published at 14:53 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

Burnley v West Brom (15:00 BST)

    Mamadou SakhoImage source, Getty Images

West Brom are interested in Liverpool's £30m-rated defender Mamadou Sakho.

France centre-back Sakho, 27, is out of favour at Anfield after falling out with Reds manager Jurgen Klopp on the 2016 pre-season tour of the USA.

He was sent on loan to Crystal Palace last season, where he made eight appearances, and was nominated for their player of the year award.

The news comes after the Baggies rejected an £18m bid from Manchester City for centre-back Jonny Evans.

Manager Tony Pulis said on Friday it would be "crazy" to say they would turn down a bigger offer for the Northern Ireland defender, but added: "We're not desperate for money."

    Not the transfer window.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is one of the some that wants a change to the transfer window, so that it shuts tight - new upvc lock and key - before the start of the season.

"You don't want to start the season and lose three of your players when you're three games into the season," he said.

"That could be really hard to take, and that happens. "We've had that when we lost Charlie Austin at the start of a season, we had it with Andre Gray. You don't want that all the time where a manager does all his work and then the players are gone and then you've somehow got to get players in."

Yes, but Sean-y aren't you going to take Chris Wood - the Championship's top scorer last season - from Leeds? Eh? Eh?
