  1. Happy memories of Brighton for Watfordpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

Watford fans should have plenty of happy memories of seeing their side take on Brighton.

The Hornets lost just one of their last 10 meetings with the Seagulls, winning five and drawing the other four.

In their last meeting in April 2015, Watford won 2-0 at the Amex Stadium to secure their return the Premier League.

  2. 'Be calm with Chalobah'published at 14:47 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

In the week, Nathaniel Chalobah became the first Watford player since John Barnes in 1987 to be called up to the England team.

Midfielder Chalobah joined the club for £5m in the summer and already boasts international pedigree, having played 40 times for England Under-21s.

But Watford head coach Marco Silva is asking for patience as the 22-year-old joins the senior men's side for World Cup qualifiers in Malta and at home to Slovakia.

"We have to be calm with him and we can't put all of this pressure on the boy and of course with games he will improve faster, I'm sure of that.

"But first he needs to win his place in the 11 and to show every day here, like the others, he will improve.

"I don't want to talk about where he needs to improve but the most important thing is that he is really open to work - and when this happens, with the quality he has, things go in the right way."

As this is only the second season ever in which these two have been in the top division together, let's do things a little bit differently.

Instead of looking forward, take a rewind with me to November 1982, external.

Graham Taylor's Watford, on their way to being Division One runners-up to Liverpool, face a Brighton side managed by Mike Bailey - soon to be sacked, with the colourful Jimmy Melia then taking the Seagulls to the FA Cup final and relegation.

  4. Lawro's predictionpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    Watford v Brighton (15:00 BST)

    .

Mark Lawrenson has made his prediction for the game and he's up against American actor Channing Tatum.

He's been impressed with Watford's start to the season and Brazilian forward Richarlison has looked bright. He thinks they're difficult to beat so he's given them three points today.

Brighton have struggled so far and Lawro thinks Watford will be too strong for them.

    Prediction: 2-1

  5. How they line up...published at 14:32 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

    Watford v Brighton (15:00 BST)

Watford make one enforced change to the team that won 2-0 at Bournemouth last weekend, with Jose Holebas suspended after seeing red in the EFL Cup defeat to Bristol City in midweek; he's replaced by Belgian Christian Kabasele.

Andre Carrillo, who has joined the Hornets on a season-long loan from Benfica, is on the bench.

Watford XI: Gomes, Britos, Prodl, Amrabat, Cleverley, Richarlison, Chalobah, Doucoure, Gray, Femenia, Kabasele.

For Brighton, there are two changes from the side that lost 2-0 at Leicester, with Tomer Hemed in for Jamie Murphy and Anthony Knockaert starting in place of Glenn Murray, who does not feature on the visitors' bench.

Their record signing, winger Jose Izquierdo, has been given international clearance and starts on the bench.

Hello and welcome along to our live text coverage as Watford welcome Brighton in the Premier League.

With five goals and four points to show for their opening two games, it's so far, so good for the hosts; while Brighton are yet to get off the mark with two defeats and no goals scored.

More on that later, but shall we get straight to it and take a look at how the sides are going to line-up?
