Leicester defender Harry Maguire, speaking to BBC Sport: "It was a solid performance in terms of our defensive shape but we were not as good on the ball, it was sloppy.

"They have waves of attacks and you expect that here at Old Trafford. We came all that way, 60 minutes at 0-0, then at 70 minutes and then we concede from a set play.

"To come to Old Trafford and allow a set piece to go in is disappointing. To let Rashford have that much time and space is very disappointing for us."

On his England call-up: "It is only two games into the season so I was delighted to get a call-up so early. Now I have got to keep working hard, get my head down and prove a point when I get there."

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare tells BT Sport: "I think we frustrated them for large parts of the game. When you come to Old Trafford in the form they are in, they will have big moments. We had our moments too but could not see the game through.

"Set pieces are our Achilles heel at the moment. We need to organsie and set better.

"It was a harsh penalty but a great save form Kasper Schmeichel. To go 1-0 down, it knocked a bit of spirit from us. Disappointed in the overall result, but we were nice and solid for large parts.

"You have ot be disciplined, you know what the opposition's strengths are. We tried to attack in the second half.

"Harry Maguire was carrying a knock but was desperate to play, he was solid."

Jose Mourinho on winning their first three matches: "We can look into perspective, last season we won against Leicester at home so that doesn't make a difference but we had too many draws at home last season.

"The difference is the quality of our football, we're playing better today and if we hadn't won this match I wouldn't have anyone to blame. The team is playing very well and I'm very confident. We are comfortable on the ball and dangerous on the counter attack.

"But nine points after three matches is nothing different for us because we did that last season."

On Zlatan Ibrahimovic's re-signing: "He will be back in January. When the market is open and people are spending money we don't. But we get a player who was fundamental for us last season. He comes to give us extra quality in the second half of the season."

More from Manchester United manager Mourinho: "We played very well. The result was open at 0-0 and it was obviously very difficult. The blue wall was very well organised and I always give credit to that, but we kept calm and kept control.

"After missing the penalty team remained confident and we deserved it. If I had to choose a word to describe my team it would be solid."

On the impact of his subs: "If I don't have them on the bench I can't make successful changes. The players work hard and those who are not playing and are on the bench, or in the stands, are working hard too and waiting for the chance."

"Is that a game that we might not have won last season? Yes, for sure. I was a bit scared but we keep pushing this season."
