The way West Ham are playing right now is not going to work. Teams can go to the London Stadium and let them have it. If they went direct, got crosses into the box to Andy Carroll, the fans may not like it but it gets you results and gets you up the table.

They didn't like that style of football under Big Sam, he got the boot. Certain clubs expect certain styles of football. But they need wins.

Could this man be back in the Premier League?

Carlo Ancelotti's departure from Bayern Munich means the gossip, external surrounding Slaven Bilic has gone into overdrive.

So now even more of Bilic's time is taken up answering questions regarding his seemingly tenuous position as West Ham's manager.

In the bottom three with four points from the opening six matches clearly isn't where the owners figured they'd be.

Things could change quite quickly though, with winnable-looking games against Swansea, Burnley, Brighton and Crystal Palace in the next month.

Swansea are a tough nut to crack, though. Well organised, they're unbeaten away from home this season and have yet to concede a goal on the road in the Premier League.

There are a lot of points to play for in the remaining 32 games of course, but given the underwhelming starts of these two teams this is a match where both will feel they have a real opportunity to secure their second win of the season.

Bournemouth's victory over Brighton in their last home game was huge and given the fact that they have to go to Spurs and Stoke next before entertaining Chelsea, the importance of this one won't be lost on them.

Leicester, who've already faced Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, will share the same feeling and have the chance to kick-start their season and head into the international break in better spirits.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane: "No game is straight forward but we got off to a great start. We wanted to come and put the pressure on. For the second goal, I was not sure whether I wanted to take it on my left, I saw the keeper come and was delighted to see it go in."

Have you been in better form? "Probably not. Goals to games it is probably the best month I have had, especially after August. I feel good, I feel confident and I am there to put the goals away. We have to continue this after the international break."

He has only failed to net in one of those games so far.

Throw his Belgium stats into the mix, and he's scored 14 goals in 11 matches this season.

Manchester United have travelled to Moscow and back this week, but they'd still be expected to beat Palace if they had been to the moon.

By how many doesn't matter. With Chelsea playing Manchester City and one or both to drop points, all Jose Mourinho will worry about is winning.

There are, of course, a multitude of things to concern Roy Hodgson.

Would just scoring a goal and a narrow defeat represent progress for Palace? Possibly, but hard to gauge against a team that may be Europe-weary.

All that matters are points - and patience until they get some. It may be a little while longer yet.

Crystal Palace are the first team ever to lose their first six games without scoring. And I'm not talking in the 'football started in 1992' sense. That record applies for the entire English Football League and goes back to 1888.
