    Rafa Benitez has sprung a surprise by giving Mo Diame his first Premier League start of the season as Newcastle look to put the Manchester United result behind them.

    The only other start Diame has made this season was in the EFL Cup defeat by Nottingham Forest in August.

    Benitez has kept faith with Ayoze Perez for quite some time but maybe he’s going to try to rekindle the telepathy between Diame and Dwight Gayle that was so successful last season.
