From the corner, it's a chance for Benteke again but his free header is straight at Foster. Big chance.

    West Brom 0-0 Crystal Palace

My attempt to tempt fate almost pays off, as Christian Benteke finds a way past at least three West Brom players and into the box.

It looks like being the moment for Palace's first away Premier League goal of the season, but Foster tips the ball behind for a corner.

    Great skill from the Belgian.

West Brom have gone in to their shells a little bit and they have allowed Palace to have some attacks of their own.

  5. Postpublished at 37 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Crystal Palace

The early goalmouth action has abated for now, and that is good news as far as Palace are concerned, with the London club making this look far more even than it was in the opening 20 minutes.

    West Brom 0-0 Crystal Palace

Just a hint of a lull in proceedings this last few minutes as Robson-Kanu is penalised for handball in the Palace area while trying to take the ball down on his chest.

  7. 'Barry injury a blow'published at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

That’s a big blow for Albion to lose Barry, he’s a skillful player who can thread balls through whereas Yacob his replacement is more of a destroyer.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 28 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Crystal Palace

An early change for West Brom and it is their set-piece taker Gareth Barry who is forced off.

He hobbles off in place of Claudio Yacob.

    West Brom 0-0 Crystal Palace

So close to a first away Premier League goal of the season for Palace!

It's Zaha again causing trouble as he picks up possession and charges forward. The Ivorian gets a shot away which takes a meaty deflection before dipping just over the crossbar.

    Lively start, this.

Great start from Albion, the players are showing confidence and they are having a go at goal, they are clearly trying to impress the new manager.

Heart in the mouth moment for Ben Foster!

With the ball at his feet, he tries to knock the ball past the advancing Wilfried Zaha, but stumbles.

Fortunately he somehow gathers it back in before Zaha can tap in.

There's a nice spark about Albion, here.

They win a free-kick after Schlupp's foul. Barry puts it into the box and Palace struggle to clear before Martin Kelly deflects a Hal Robson-Kanu effort over the bar.

Barry swings the corner in and finds Hegazi, but he heads wide at the far post.

First sight of goal for Palace.

Roy Hodgson's side work the ball well to Wilfried Zaha, who fires into the side netting via a deflection to win a corner...but it comes to nothing.

  15. 'Speroni an excellent replacement for Palace'published at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    West Brom 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Tony 'Bomber' Brown
Former West Brom striker on BBC WM 95.6

It is a bit of a blow for Palace to lose their keeper before the match but Speroni is excellent in his own right and has had some great games against West Brom.

That should've been the first goal of the Alan Pardew era at The Hawthorns.

Kieran Gibbs' cross misses Saloman Rondon, but falls instead to Hal Robson-Kanu who scoops over from barely six yards.

In fairness, it was a little bit behind him, but he probably should hit the target from there.

    West Brom 0-0 Crystal Palace

West Brom with the first corner of the match, as Jonny Evans and Ahmed Hegazi come forward.

Gareth Barry takes it, but it's beyond everyone.

  19. Postpublished at 3 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Crystal Palace

A positive start from the home side, as a great touch and clearance from Jeffrey Schlupp halts a West Brom attack.

We are under way at The Hawthorns, where the floodlights are already casting shadows on a dreary December day.

If you're late joining us, here's a reminder of how the two teams start this match after that late change in goal for the visitors.
