Neither side stepping up to take these points.

Even Sam Allardyce isn't chewing his gum quite as furiously as we're used to.

Yannick Bolasie comes off now. An hour for him on his return after a year out.

Aaron Lennon replaces him. Dominic Calvert-Lewis also makes way - for Oumar Niasse.

Alan Pardew standing with his hands and arms very firmly folded.

Sam Allardyce looks to be readying a few subs...

Matt Phillips darting down the right wing and into the box, Ashley Williams can't stop the cross but Everton evade the danger - Philiips' ball is too long.

Salomon Rondon needs a bit of treatment here now. On come the West Brom physios. Looks like it's his hamstring.

He will have to come off. Tweaked it in the miss?

Hal Robson-Kanu is on to replace him.

  7. CHANCE!published at 50 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

I mean the angle was tough, but again Salomon Rondon should be doing much better.

Played into the box down Mason Holgate's blindside, the striker totally fluffs his shot. He slips, ends up on his bottom as the ball zips into oblivion. Not a great feeling that one.

  8. Postpublished at 49 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

Gylfi Sigurdsson knocks in another free-kick that doesn't travel beyond the first man. Then Gareth Barry slips up to let Morgan Schneiderlin in down the left but the cross beats everybody.

As West Brom counter, Barry is there to knock a shot into Schneiderlin's legs on the edge of the box.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

    Everton get us restarted.

No changes from either side at the break.

  10. Postpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

West Brom have certainly been the more ambitious so far - but the game has dimmed and it feels like both sides have just been going through the motions a bit.

There was a little burst of West Brom activity just before the break, however.

A sign of things to come perhaps?

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

Poor! West Brom suddenly have a three on three.

Salomon Rondon has the ball, Jay Rodriduez running outside to his left. But the pass is too heavy and the chance is gone.

  13. Postpublished at 44 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

Free-kick Baggies. Deep in the Everton half. Christ Brunt will deliver.

Deep to the back post it goes - way over Jordan Pickford - and Gareth Barry nods over the bar under pressure from blue shirts around him.

  14. Postpublished at 42 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

Chris Brunt forces a regulation save from Jordan Pickford, shooting on his left from outside of the box. That's the first bit of excitement we've had in ages...

  15. Postpublished at 40 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

Good stuff from three Everton youngsters.

Jonjoe Kenny and Tom Davies combine to rustle a cross on the right wing, which comes to nothing and West Brom can counter. There is Mason Holgate though with a solid piece of defending to deny Salomon Rondon and win his side a free-kick.

FIVE to go before the break.

  16. Postpublished at 37 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

Chris Brunt to inject a bit of excitement with a set piece? Nope, he can't beat the first man.

It comes back to Brunt on the wing - this time he does find a man in the box, but Craig Dawson can only head way over the bar.

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

OK, honestly this was a decent game in the first half hour. Decent-ish.

Gareth Barry is snoozing and chips a through pass straight to a ball boy. Straight out of play with it - there was no West Brom shirt to aim at. What was he thinking?

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

Waspish chasing down from Yannick Bolasie up front. Here he is hunting Michael Keane's long ball.

It winds up with West Brom's Matt Phillips and he belts one up the park too. Goal kick Everton.

    Nothing to see here.

  19. Postpublished at 29 mins

    West Brom 0-0 Everton

West Brom can't get out. The away side have them pinned back but there's no way through. Yannick Bolasie sees a cross fenced away before Tom Davies' through ball is deflected out.

There's plenty of territory for Everton now. What can they do with it?

Yannick Bolasie gets carried away and tries to curl a shot from outside the box into the top corner. Off it flies into the stands.
