Neymar curls the free-kick towards the goalkeeper's side and it is well aimed into the top corner, but Anthony Lopes springs high to his right to push the ball to safety.

    Good shot, great save.

    PSG 0-0 Lyon

Right then. PSG have a free-kick on the edge of the box after Lyon skipper Nabil Fekir barged over Neymar.

The Brazilian picks himself off the turf and stands over the ball...

    Gareth Bale

    Hahahaaaaaaa. See my last entry.

Bang on the hour mark, Gareth Bale gets Real Madrid's third...and what a finish it is.

A long ball is played into the right channel and Real Sociedad full-back Kevin Rodrigues looks like he has it covered.

But Welshman Bale gets on his skates, chasing Rodrigues down, outpacing him into the box and dinking a gorgeous chip over Geronimo Rulli and into the net.

Sociedad's 100% record about to go up in smoke.

    Real Sociedad 1-2 Real Madrid

Almost an hour on the clock and Gareth Bale gets - what I remember - is his first touch on the ball.

No wonder he gets booed by his own supporters.

The Welshman has been really poor today.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 17 September 2017

    PSG 0-0 Lyon

Back under for the second half in Paris.

    An improvement would be nice.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:02 British Summer Time 17 September 2017

    Real Sociedad 1-2 Real Madrid

Sergio Canales shot - against his old club - straight into the temporary stand.

And that is his last action, his boss has seen enough.

Off he comes and former Arsenal player Carlos Vela replaces him.

  11. Postpublished at 20:58 British Summer Time 17 September 2017

    Real Sociedad 1-2 Real Madrid

Sociedad defender Diego Llorente is sniffing a goal today.

This time this strike from the outside of the box is straight at Keylor Navas.

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:58 British Summer Time 17 September 2017

    Real Sociedad 1-2 Real Madrid

This should be the game wrapped up.

Marco Asensio plays a sublime pass through to Borja Mayoral who is in on goal.

The youngster smashes a shot straight at Geronimo Rulli and is quickest to react to the rebound, but can only lash his effort into the side netting.

I'd say it was a sitter, from around five yards out.

  13. Postpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 17 September 2017

    Real Sociedad 1-2 Real Madrid

Great start to the second half by Adnan Januzaj, looking like the player who first broke through at Manchester United.

He sprints down the right and puts a cross into the box which Sergio Ramos has to clear.

From the resulting corner, home defender Diego Llorente heads straight at Keylor Navas.

  14. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 17 September 2017

    Real Sociedad 1-2 Real Madrid

If the referee spots this, it's a penalty.

Xabi Prieto goes down in the box after being held by Theo Hernandez, but the man in yellow - nor his assistant - spot the infringement.

    VAR?

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 17 September 2017

The players are in the tunnel and about to come out for the second half.

Looks like Gareth Bale is coming on for Real Madrid.

Wait, what?? He played the first 45 minutes?

Could have fooled me. The Welshman was anonymous.

  19. Postpublished at 20:47 British Summer Time 17 September 2017

    PSG 0-0 Lyon

The world's most expensive player has not has his best performance in a PSG shot so far.

His first real involvement comes a minute before half time, cutting inside and striking a shot straight at Anthony Lopes.

  20. Postpublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 17 September 2017

    PSG 0-0 Lyon

    Wasted.

Handed a start today in place of Thomas Meunier, full-back Dani Alves zooms down the right and from a good position in the box, cuts the ball back to nobody.

In fact, it is a superb interception by Tanguy Alvaro. The Lyon man nicks the ball off the toe of Layvin Kurzawa, who was ready to shoot into the net from six yards out.
