  1. Carlisle's Miller banned for divingpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 21 October 2017

Carlisle v Notts County (15:00 BST)

Carlisle are without striker Shaun Miller for today's League Two fixture against Notts County.

He became the first player to be charged with diving by the Football Association since new simulation laws were introduced in May.

He was charged with "successful deception of a match official", after an alleged "clear act of simulation" which led to a penalty being awarded in Tuesday's 3-3 draw against Wycombe on Tuesday.

The retrospective action landed Miller with a two-game suspension.

Ex-Bolton striker Ivan Klasnic was due to be present at today's Championship match against QPR, but that appearance was postponed after a suitable kidney donor was found for him.

The 37-year-old suffered kidney failure while playing for Werder Bremen in 2006 and received a transplant from his mother, but it was rejected days later. He then received a donor kidney from his father, but his kidneys failed again in September 2016.

Klasnic had a third kidney transplant earlier this week and, according to reports, he is recovering well.

Sheffield United v Reading (15:00 BST)

It has been a tale of contrasting fortunes for Sheffield United and Reading so far this season.

Last season's beaten Championship play-off finalists have faltered and find themselves just outside the relegation zone, contrast that with newly-promoted Sheffield United, who currently sit third under the tutelage of Chris Wilder.

  10. Reading look to cut down in-form Bladespublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 21 October 2017

Reading are back on their travels again this afternoon in the Championship and back in Yorkshire.

The Royals claimed a vital win at Leeds United seven days ago courtesy of Mo Barrow's late goal for a first victory in six games.

They face a Blades side who have picked up 24 points after their opening 12 league games - their best start at this stage since 2005-06 (30 points) - the season in which they were promoted to the Premier League.

Reading manager Jaap Stam isn't surprised by the start Chris Wilder's men have made.

Middlesbrough v Cardiff City (15:00 BST)

Middlesbrough and Cardiff seem to like finding the back of the net when they play each other.

None of the past 22 league meetings between the sides have ended as a draw, with Middlesbrough winning 12 and Cardiff winning 10 since a 1-1 draw in April 1971.

Victory on the road for Cardiff this afternoon could take them back to the Championship summit but for 12th-placed Boro, a win would be very welcome as they bid to keep pace with the top six.

Garry Monk's side are without a win in their past four league games.

"We have to keep increasing our level of performance. That was the message from day one. We have a long way to go and nothing changes."

Shrewsbury and Wigan have flown out of the blocks in League One, making very impressive starts to the season to occupy the automatic promotion places.

While the Latics' performances may have been anticipated by some, following their relegation from the Championship, Shrewsbury's form has been the story of the 2017-18 League One campaign so far.

After finishing 20th and 18th in the past two seasons, Paul Hurst's side are the only unbeaten team in the English Football League with 10 wins and four draws so far.

They will look to continue their remarkable start against Fleetwood today, while second-placed Wigan travel the short distance to Blackpool.
