    Birmingham City 0-0 Aston Villa

Terrible free-kick from Albert Adomah finishes it off as it goes sailing over the Birmingham crossbar and into the visiting contingent behind.

Villa were the ones who come closest to winning it as they twice struck the crossbar in that second half.

Marc Roberts with the long throws into Villa's box trying to cause problems.

Villa get it clear and then get themselves a free-kick right on the edge of Birmingham's penalty box...

On comes Lukas Jutkiewicz for the closing moments for Birmingham to replace Che Adams.

Will the big man get a big goal in a big derby?

Call me a cynic but I think we could add 50 minutes on here and not find a goal.

I'd like to be proved wrong though....

    That's your 90 minutes up.

We're going to have FIVE MINUTES ADDED ON in the hope of finding a winner.

    Birmingham City 0-0 Aston Villa

Birmingham free-kick from Jonathan Grounds is floated into the Villa box, but the visitors do enough to out-muscle their opponents and head it away.

  12. Postpublished at 87 mins

    Birmingham City 0-0 Aston Villa

No joy for Scott Hogan with his first touch for Villa on the left side.

He looses out in a challenge and has a free-kick awarded against him. Another half-chance goes begging for Villa to pinch it.

  13. Postpublished at 85 mins

Last five minutes of the 90.

Is anyone going to come away with the win in this?

  14. Postpublished at 84 mins

    Birmingham City 0-0 Aston Villa

Jeremie Boga shows some determination on the ball with his first touch for Birmingham City.

But, he's unable to square it on the edge of the area to a team-mate with a clear sight of goal and Villa can clear it.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

    Birmingham City 0-0 Aston Villa

Last Aston Villa change sees Jonathan Kodjia make way for Scott Hogan.

Looks like Kodjia tweaked something as he took that shot on to the crossbar.

Birmingham make their own change as Jota is replaced by Jeremie Boga in attack.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 79 mins

    Birmingham City 0-0 Aston Villa

Villa find that Birmingham crossbar again!

Jonathan Kodjia the man this time who takes a shot at goal after a run into the Birmingham area.

He looked like he's lost his balance at first, but then composed his right-foot effort but it curls onto the top of the bar and behind.

Keinan Davis' introduction certainly has proved interesting...

Villa force their way into the Birmingham area neatly between Davis and Alan Hutton.

Tomasz Kuszczak comes out to block Hutton's effort first and it falls to Davis to strike one, but off the cross bar it comes and away to safety.

    So close to the opener!

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 76 mins

    Birmingham City 0-0 Aston Villa

I hope those stats are a good omen Ged as I'm far form convinced at this point....

A Villa corner comes to nothing as Joshua Onomah can't direct a shot on target and he then goes in the book moments after for a foul inside his own half.

There hasn't been a goalless draw in this fixture in six Second City derbies since October 2010. And you have to go back another seven years, and 10 another derbies, since there was one at St Andrew's.

At least we have got closer to a goal since the break. Jota, yet to break his Blues duck, should obviously have done a lot better with his great chance. Perhaps Sam Gallagher too, although it came at him fast.

Villa have come close twice, especially Jonathan Kodjia's header, which drew a fine save from Tomasz Kuszczak - but the arrival of Keinan Davis looks interesting.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 74 mins

    Birmingham City 0-0 Aston Villa

Second Aston Villa change sees Conor Hourihane make way for Keinan Davis in the midfield.

Looks like Albert Adomah will switch flanks as a result.
