    Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz had allowed play to go on earlier, as the Croatian midfielder chopped down Antoine Griezmann in the centre circle.

    The Atletico Madrid fans held their breath for a moment as Lionel Messi skipped past two home defenders and made his way to the edge of the area, before the Argentine's run was halted by Diego Godin.

    Had he poked that through, he was in on goal and we would be celebrating another Messi special.
