England Women football politics have certainly made a lot of off-field headlines these past few months. But it's time to get back to the important stuff of what matters most - and the reality of World Cup qualification in the West Midlands tonight.

There's a capacity, near 10,000 crowd expected at blustery Bescot for interim head coach Mo Marley's first competitive game in charge, a free St George's flag on every seat.

And, although Bosnia & Herzegovina will try to put a spanner in the works, a lot of excited young faces awaiting their first taste of international football Walsall style.

    World Cup qualifying table

England made an emphatic start on the road to France 2019, beating Russia 6-0.

After this match, they take on Kazakhstan on Tuesday before meeting Wales at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium on 6 April.

  8. 'England need to be patient'published at 18:54 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

England Women v Bosnia and Herzegovina Women (19:05 GMT)

    Alex Scott
Arsenal Ladies & former England international on Final Score

England need to be patient, we need to let Bosnia come out and pop the ball about then to exploit the space in behind.

When we played in Euro 2017 qualifying I think we got the tactics wrong, with too many people pushed on.

  9. 'Be unselfish, keep the ball moving'published at 18:48 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

England Women v Bosnia and Herzegovina Women (19:05 GMT)

We are expecting a pattern to emerge pretty fast in this one.

England are ranked third in the world, Bosnia are back down in 72nd.

But when the two teams were placed in the same Euro 2017 qualifying group, and ultra-defensive Bosnia came close to taking something from both matches against England, edged out by a solitary second-half goal on each occasion.

"It’s part and parcel of being one of the higher-ranked teams in the world," said Izzy Christiansen.

“We will be expected to have a lot of the ball against a team who will probably bank up in defence. It’s important we work as a team, be unselfish and keep the ball moving.

England Women v Bosnia and Herzegovina Women (19:05 GMT)

    Alex Scott

Mo Marley has worked with every single player involved tonight. The talent is all there for this team to medal at France 2018 and she can bring that out.

LOL! "You Laugh, You Lose" featuring Christiansen v Parris

It is lucky that Izzy Christiansen and Nikita Parris are aimed at the World Cup rather than the World Cup of Poker.

Neither of the Manchester City and England team-mates could keep a credible straight face as they took on the You Laugh, You Lose challenge.

  12. 'Game day'published at 18:43 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

There have been 66 days between the first and second games of England Women's World Cup qualifying campaign.

Somehow it feels a whole lot longer.

With Mo Marley in interim charge, England take on Bosnia and Herzegovina tonight at Walsall's Bank's Stadium tonight hoping to extend their 100% start to life in Group One.

And to make the football the focus of attention once again.

That same coach found to made racially discriminatory remarks to some of his England squad.

An apology to one of England Women's most experienced players.

A four-hour grilling for Football Association bosses over the whole affair.
