Time for us to say goodbye after an afternoon when the top two chalked up another three points. However, their wins were not without scares with pacesetters Coleraine edging out Dungannon Swifts while closest challengers Crusaders had to come from behind to beat Warrenpoint Town.

Four games were postponed because of the wintry weather but there was plenty of entertainment in the two surviving fixtures, including a cracking strike from Darren McCauley to ensure Coleraine remained six points clear at the Premiership summit.

    See you again next Saturday.

    Coleraine 1-0 Dungannon Swifts

    Quote Message

I'm frustrated - we came here with a plan to stay in the game and they bring on three attacking players and go for the win. It's the second week in a row we have played some excellent football but have come away with nothing to show for it. We're not getting the rub of the green in front of goal. On shots and attempts we are disappointed to be leaving here with nothing. However, there's plenty of positives.

    Rodney McAree, Dungannon Swifts manager

  3. We were punished for switching off - Tiptonpublished at 17:27 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Warrenpoint Town 2-3 Crusaders

    Quote Message

I was pleased, for the majority of the game, with the application and the attitude of the players and the way that they stuck to their tasks and jobs. Unfortunately we switched off a couple of times in the second half and we were punished for it.

    Matthew Tipton, Warrenpoint Town Manager

  4. Baxter pleased with Crues' characterpublished at 17:23 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Warrenpoint Town 2-3 Crusaders

    Quote Message

Sometimes it just comes down to digging a result out from somewhere. I thought Warrenpoint here today were excellent and should have went 3-1 up when Darren Murray went through. If you win four or five nil at a canter then sometimes you don't really learn a lot from it. Today we learned a little bit about our character, we were behind had to see if we could come back from it and we did. That's a very pleasing aspect of today.

    Stephen Baxter, Crusaders Manager

  5. Kearney happy to secure narrow winpublished at 17:16 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Coleraine 1-0 Dungannon Swifts

    Quote Message

Considering the conditions it was a good game and we're happy to get the three points. Darren hit his shot straight as an arrow and on a day like this it was going to take a bit of class to win it. The first half was like a game of chess. In the second half Dungannon created a couple of good chances while could have been a bit wiser on the break.

    Oran Kearney, Coleraine manager

  6. Crusaders showed trademark resiliencepublished at 17:13 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Warrenpoint Town 2-3 Crusaders

    Quote Message

If you're looking for a word to describe Crusaders it is: resilience. That's what they showed today, they have a fair amount of talent as well obviously. They just about kept the momentum rolling. The manner of their performance and the way they came back will be very pleasing for Stephen Baxter. I don't think we learnt a lot more about Warrenpoint today. Ultimately they posses a threat going forward but they're vulnerable at the back.

  8. Coleraine upped their game - Walkerpublished at 17:02 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Coleraine 1-0 Dungannon Swifts

    Quote Message

Coleraine were lethargic in the first but they still managed to go in ahead. They were much better in the second half and by and large dominated the game and should have added to their tally. Not their greatest performance but this was a big game psychologically and they were worth the win.

  9. RESULTpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Warrenpoint Town 2-3 Crusaders

Two second half goals mean that Crusaders carry on their rich vein of form and keep Coleraine in their sights.

This was anything from straightforward against a Warrenpoint side who looked impressive going forward.

Crusaders had enough in the tank to come back from a 2-1 deficit at half time and Stephen Baxter's men travel back to Belfast with all three points.

  10. RESULTpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Coleraine 1-0 Dungannon Swifts

Far from vintage stuff from the Premiership pacesetters but they always say it's a sign of potential champions when they can win without being at their best. A fine Darren McCauley goal gives the Bannsiders all three points and they stay six clear at the top.

  11. Owens heads Crues into leadpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

  12. Wasteful hostspublished at 16:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Coleraine 1-0 Dungannon Swifts

Coleraine squander two good opportunities to seal victory. A fine team move ends with Darren McCauley firing over and then Ian Parkhill rounds keeper Stuart Addis but slices wide with an empty goal in his sights. Dungannon have little time to punish the leaders.

  13. Attacking feastpublished at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Warrenpoint Town 2-3 Crusaders

    Quote Message

It's really a case of 'you have a chance, we have a chance' now. There's no sense of Crusaders trying to hold on here and take the sting out of the game. That's not happening, both sides are trying to find more goals.

    Warrenpoint 2-3 Crusaders

Just before Owens' goal, Darren Murray twice went close in the space of a few seconds.

Warrenpoint have caused the Crusaders defence a lot of problems so far today and haven't showed signs of tiring yet. Crusaders will know that this game is not yet won.

  17. CLOSE!published at 16:34 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Coleraine 1-0 Dungannon Swifts

Two good chances in a minutes - Ryan Mayse hits a powerful 16-yard volley straight at Chris Johns before Coleraine scorer Darren McCauley cuts inside but lifts his shot a foot over the Swifts crossbar.

  18. goal

GOALpublished at 16:33 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Warrenpoint Town 2-3 Crusaders

That is Jordan Owens' bread and butter. Header from about 8 yards out, right in front of goal and a perfect height, Jonny Parr wasn't going to save that.

Gavin Whyte stands the ball up from the right hand side and Owens powers it in.

  19. Bannsiders bossing itpublished at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Coleraine 1-0 Dungannon Swifts

Little to note in the way of goalmouth action but Coleraine are beginning to edge affairs. As things stand, with the Crues drawing at Warrenpoint, the Bannsiders are on course to extend their lead at the top to eight points. However, there's still 20 minutes to go and 1-0 is never a comfortable lead.

  20. goal

GOALpublished at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Warrenpoint 2-2 Crusaders

Equaliser. Rodney Brown pumps a free kick into the box, unsurprisingly towards the towering figure of Jordan Owens.

Owens duly obliges and heads across goal where the ball is temporarily cleared, only as far as the waiting Jordan Forsythe who drills a low shot through the fingers of Jonny Parr.
