  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 32 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Breakaway at the other end from Carlos Pena, who appears to tread on the ball - or was that deliberate? - but it falls into the path of the supporting Josh Windass, whose shot looks to be heading for the left corner before Joe Lewis gets down low to divert it for a corner.

  2. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Dons still on the attack. Anthony Considine whips a ball in from the left, but it's a bit too swift for Adam Rooney, who can only direct it well wide of the left post.

  3. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Aberdeen forward Scott Wright plays a ball forward to...absolutely no-one. Wright gestures to Stevie May that he should have been running into the inside-left channel, but you wonder why Wright didn't just run with the ball himself.

  4. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Underwhelming from the Dons so far. Stevie May wins a corner on the right. Greg Stewart takes it, fails to get it beyond the first defender, and when it comes back to him, Stewart is adjudged to be offside. More groans from the home fans.

  5. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Aberdeen's frustration with the way proceedings are going is starting to show. Kenny McLean is fortunate to escape a booking after flying into a tackle and leaving Rangers midfielder Jason Holt on the deck.

It is an excellent header from Danny Wilson, but Aberdeen's marking was shocking. I think it is beyond Joe Lewis before he knew it

It is an incredible goal, but it's dreadful defensively for Aberdeen. They don't pick up and I don't know what Joe Lewis is doing. He is rooted to his line and just watches it loop over his head into the corner.

  8. goal

    GOAL - Aberdeen 0-1 Rangers (Wilson)published at 14 mins

Declan John whips in a free-kick from the right-hand side, and centre-back Danny Wilson heads it diagonally - from a good 18 yards out - over Dons keeper Joe Lewis and into the far corner.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Graeme Shinnie is the first Aberdeen player into the book for a reckless challenge on Rangers right-back James Tavernier. He didn't give Willie Collum much option there.

  10. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

A few feisty challenges in these opening stages, as you'd expect in this fixture. Ryan Jack, formerly of this Pittodrie parish, is roundly booed as he fouls former team-mate Graeme Shinnie.

  11. 'Right formation from Dons'published at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2017

Attention to detail from Derek McInnes as usual - making sure that Ross McCrorie doesn't get as much room in front of the defence as he did on Wednesday

  12. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Nice build-up from the visitors as Ryan Jack finds Kenny Miller, who flicks it on to Josh Windass. But the man of the moment's half-volley drifts woefully high and wide, and gets an earful from Miller in response.

  13. YELLOW CARD - Windasspublished at 5 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Josh Windass races clear onto a long ball and appears to be free of three Dons defenders. As Dons keeper Joe Lewis comes out, Windass appears to be waiting for contact, sticking out his left leg before sprawling to the ground.

Referee Willie Collum has no truck with the penalty claim, and books Windass for diving.

  14. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Aberdeen 0-0 Rangers

Mistake by Dons centre-back Anthony O'Connor, who takes a touch which goes out for a corner, claiming he got pushed in the back as he did so.

Josh Windass takes it, Kenny Miller gets a flick-on, and it is deflected behind for another corner. This time the Dons clear their lines.

  17. McInnes 'focused on the football'published at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2017

    Aberdeen v Rangers (12:30)

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes emphasises that he is ignoring the speculation linking him with Rangers.

Speaking to BBC Scotland, he said: “It’s just the length of time it’s gone on for me, there’s a lot of things I’m not happy with, but the biggest thing I’m not happy with was the result on Wednesday night. It’s all about today. My focus is on the football and hopefully we can show that today.

“It’s clear that there has to be a response, we fell way below the standards we’ve set at the club over the past few years.

“We had two tough away games and it was two contrasting performances. We played well at Kilmarnock and that set us up nicely for Wednesday. I thought Rangers showed a better appetite to run and work and do the dirty side of the game better than us in the early part. It stresses the importance of the start.

“I would like to try to get at them a bit more in the wider areas and pin their full-backs in. It is important that we’re compact in the game and deny their better players the influence they had on Wednesday. We want to show a different side to us."

They pulled Aberdeen all over the place in midweek. It is a bad one losing Alves, but it is no surprise they are trying to keep the same formation with that one forced change

    Quote Message

After going five at the back at Ibrox and seeing how poorly it was executed, Derek McInnes wasn't going for that again. It is a pretty attacking line-up, but it has to be an attacking formation at home. I don't think that performance in midweek at Ibrox was acceptable for Aberdeen fans. Revenge must be on the players' minds today.
