Right, that's it from me for now as the old stomach is rumbling. I'm off to grab a bite to eat but will be back for Real Madrid's game against Celta Viga from 19:30 GMT.

I'll leave you with the report on Barcelona's Sunday stroll against Levante and hope you can join me later.

    Barcelona 3-0 Levante

Barcelona kick off 2018 in La Liga with a victory that moves them nine points clear at the top of the table.

They are also now 17 points ahead of Real Madrid. Pressure on Zinedine Zidane's side to respond when they are in action against Celta Vigo later today (19:45 GMT)

    Easy as you like.

  5. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 3-0 Levantepublished at 90+2 mins

    Paulinho

    He bags again!

A few eyebrows were raised when Barcelona signed Paulinho but he's settled into the team nicely. A little give and go with Lionel Messi and he taps in from close range.

That's his seventh goal of the season. No midfielder has scored more in La Liga.

  6. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Into the first of four minutes of stoppage time but this game is as good as done.

It was as good as done after 45 minutes to be honest.

  7. Postpublished at 88 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Barcelona, who have used all three subs, manages to get up and shakes off the injury. Relieved applause by the Barcelona fans, his link up with Lionel Messi this season has been massive.

  8. Postpublished at 87 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

This looks nasty. Jordi Alba stretches a bit too much for a ball and twinges something. He is writhing around in pain.

An injury to Alba will take a bit of the shine off the win.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Wish these teams would make substitutions at the same time, would help me out massively typing things up.

Sergi Roberto is going off and he's getting a standing ovation for his part in Barcelona's second goal. Jose Arnaiz is on for the final few minutes.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 82 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Final change for Levante as Jason is replaced by Samu Garcia.

  11. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Levante have done a good job of keeping Barcelona quiet in this half. I make it one decent chance the hosts have had.

Barca do often bag in the final 10 minutes, so still time yet for a third.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 77 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Andres Iniesta goes off to the usual big applause from the home fans. Loved here, will they love his potential successor, Philippe Coutinho, as much over time?

Andre Gomes comes on the closing stages.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 74 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Another change for Levante as Emmanuel Boateng, on a booking, goes off and on comes forward Nano.

The visitors not giving up just yet.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 72 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Luis Suarez, onside, gets the ball trapped under his feet. His first shot is poor but a panicky clearance means he gets it back and this time clatters an effort at goal, good save by Oier Olazabal.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 70 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Nelson Semedo, fresh legs, is full of running and Emmanuel Boateng can do nothing more than wrestle him to the ground to prevent the Barcelona forward from getting away. It means another booking for a Levante player.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 67 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Ousmane Dembele's work his done for the day. The forward has got an hour under his belt on his return from injury and gets a fine applause from the home fans for his efforts. Plenty more to come from the 20-year-old you would expect.

Nelson Semedo comes on, slots into right back as Sergi Roberto moves into midfield.

  17. CLOSE!published at 65 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Best chance of the game for Levante as the Barcelona defence is caught napping, allowing a ball to run through to the unmarked Shaquell Moore, who stretches to direct a shot at goal but Marc-Andre ter Stergen saves with his feet.

  18. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

And here's the change for Levante as Rober Pier comes on for Jefferson Lerma.

  19. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Barcelona 2-0 Levante

Bit dull now. Barcelona are easing themselves into 2018 and not stretching themselves too much now they are 2-0 up and looking comfortable.

Levante look set to make a change.

Kolade Ibrahim: Coutinho is a long term replacement for Iniesta. However, comparisons to Iniesta are unfair. Iniesta is one of a kind.
