    Nacho

    Real aren't done yet!

I feel sorry for Ruben in the Deportivo goal because he doesn't deserve to be on the end of a 7-1 defeat.

However, Real seventh's is a really simply goal, Nacho swilling inside the box to turn home a cross.

    Real Madrid 6-1 Deportivo

It is quite the knock Cristiano Ronaldo has picked up. He's bleeding from a cut above his eye.

As he walks to the edge of the pitch for a doctor to give it a check he asks for his phone, sticks it on selfie mode to have a look at the damage, grimacing. He's not liking what he sees!

    Cristiano Ronaldo

    It's like buses!

You go without a goal for a while and then suddenly two come along at once. Cristiano Ronaldo dives to thump home a header.

It comes at a bit of a cost because he took a knock to the head when going for the ball.

    Real Madrid 5-1 Deportivo

A standing ovation for Gareth Bale as he is substituted. He's been excellent today.

Lucas Vasquez replaces the Wales forward.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

    FINALLY!

Cristiano Ronaldo gets his name on the scoresheet, volleying in Casemiro's fine cross at the far post.

An overdue thumping victory for Real Madrid and they've deserved it.

    Hug...

    Wha...

How on earth did Cristiano Ronaldo miss that!!??

The forward hooks a shot wide from six yards out. It was the very definition of a shot that was easier to score than miss but, when things aren't going your way...

  10. CLOSE!published at 70 mins

    Real Madrid 4-1 Deportivo

Nacho prevents Deportivo from getting a glimmer of hope as the visitors pounce on defensive hesitancy but Andone's shot is cleared off the line by Nacho.

    Luka Modric

Deportivo are leaving so much space at the back and Real Madrid take full advantage. Cristiano Ronaldo flicks the ball into Luka Modric's path on the edge of the area and the midfielder whips it into the back of the net. Lovely goal.

    Real Madrid 3-1 Deportivo

Karim Benzema gets immediately into the thick of things, playing the ball to Cristiano Ronaldo inside the Deportivo box. Ronaldo has the chance to tee up Toni Kroos but opts to go for it himself but shoots wide.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 63 mins

    Real Madrid 3-1 Deportivo

A solid outing for Borja Mayoral comes to an end as he is replaced by Karim Benzema, restoring the original BBC attacking triumvirate for Real.

    Real Madrid 3-1 Deportivo

Casemiro defends well to prevent Juanfran from twisty and turning his way into a shooting opportunity. Deportivo, with nothing to lose, are throwing players forward now.

Sean Hill: Much better from #RealMadrid today! They've made tens of chances per game this season, but finally they're starting to convert.

Ruben tipped Casemiro's header behind from a corner and it from the set piece that Gareth Bale glances home for his second of the game.

    Real in control

    WHAT A SAVE!

Incredible reflexes by Ruben again as he somehow stops Casemiro's close range header.

    But...

    Real Madrid 2-1 Deportivo

Another change for the visitors as midfielder Celso Borges is replaced by Emre Colak.

  19. CLOSE!published at 53 mins

    Real Madrid 2-1 Deportivo

Real come forward again. Cristiano Ronaldo playing in Marcelo on the overlap and the fullback hits a low ball into the dangerzone, Borja Mayoral stretches to meet it but just fails to connect for a tap in.

Surely only a matter of time before Real add a third?

  20. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Real Madrid 2-1 Deportivo

Big opportunity for Real Madrid to add a third as Dani Carvajal is picked out inside the area by a brilliant ball from the hosts' own half. Carvajal bottles having a pop at goal and instead squares for Cristiano Ronaldo, who shoves a defender a bit too hard for the referee's liking and the visitors are awarded a free kick.
