    West Brom 1-0 Southampton

That corner came about following some good link-up play between Salomon Rondon and Daniel Sturridge up front and again Sturridge is in the action. He finds space on the left-side of the box but his cross is over-hit.

Southampton respond through Sofiane Boufal but the winger fires a shot from outside the box narrowly wide of the post.

    Really good game, this.

Lift off at the Hawthorns. It was already an emotional atmosphere but now the place is bouncing.

It's a really simple goal. Chris Brunt whips a corner in left-footed from the right and Ahmed Hegazi is unmarked in the middle and powers a header beyond Alex McCarthy from around six yards.

Jack Stephens protests that he was fouled by Hegazi but there was nothing in that.

Two of the bottom three go toe-to-toe, each hoping they can produce that moment of magic to earn victory and ease their relegation woes. The form guide offers little hope for either side.

Under Alan Pardew, West Brom have managedone win in 11 Premier League games.Southampton are winless in 12!

The signing of Daniel Sturridge should boost Albion's firepower but ex-Saint Jay Rodriguez is their man of the moment.

You can almost see the headlines now as he fires the winner against his former club. Mind you, Shane Long might have designs on writing that script as well.

Now, on this emotional afternoon, hopefully the match can do the occasion justice.

I'm not sure I have ever heard the Hawthorns as loud as this.
