  5. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Arsenal have won this competition a record four times since it began in 2011.

A fifth success tonight would be something of a shock though, as they trail City and leaders Chelsea in the Women's Super League One table.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 36 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

Arsenal's Dominique Janssen brings down Nikita Parris and that'll be the second Gunners yellow card of the game.

  7. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Arsenal 1-0 Man City

So the holders - and favourites - Man City are behind. How can they respond?

  8. goal

GOAL: Arsenal 1-0 Man Citypublished at 33 mins

    Vivianne Miedema

It's the opening goal for Arsenal! The Netherlands striker Vivianne Miedema brings the ball down at the far post and slots in low through the keepers' legs.

But the move was ALL about Jordan Nobbs. She played a neat one-two with a clever flick and then spread the ball out wide perfectly. Terrific football from the Arsenal and England playmaker and - overall - that's a really decent team goal. The best move of the game so far.

  9. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

Izzy Christiansen's free-kick is aimed towards the back post, but City's Steph Houghton and Nadia Nadim - both challenging for it - appear to get in each others' way and it's out for a goal kick.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 30 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

Emma Mitchell catches City's Izzy Christiansen late, and that's the first yellow card of the game, for Scotland left-back Mitchell.

City have a free-kick from deep and will launch it in to the area...

  11. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

So far then, Arsenal's Dominique Janssen has gone closest to breaking the deadlock in this 2018 Women's Continental Tyres Cup final.

Her long-range strike struck the crossbar with the best effort of the game.

  12. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

Arsenal win a free-kick near the corner flag, but Jordan Nobbs' resulting cross is headed away at the near post.

The Gunners will be pleased with their display so far, having come in to tonight's game as the underdogs arguably.

  13. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

In fact there are 16 British players on the field right now, including 10 Brits among the Man City XI.

Now... Will we ever be able to say that about the men's league cup final?

Overseas stars have certainly been coming to the WSL in growing numbers in recent years but nevertheless, homegrown talent is certainly getting a chance at the highest level in the English women's game.

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

The England Women boss Phil Neville is at Adams Park for tonight's final, in the stands. He's got a fair few national team contenders to watch tonight, that's for sure!

There are nine English players in this Man City side alone, plus a further three English players in the Arsenal starting XI.

  15. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

Arsenal's Beth Mead cuts in from the right, past her marker and in to the penalty area, but she can't get the ball out of her feet to get a shot away.

Moments later, at the other end, City's England winger Nikita Parris fires over from a tight angle.

  16. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

That really was just a whisker away from the opening goal for the Gunners, and it'd been a good move in the build-up as well, with the Netherlands' Vivianne Miedema causing some problems for Man City in the penalty area.

Promising stuff for Joe Montemurro's side.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

So close! Arsenal almost score a screamer but Dominique Janssen's first-time, long-range drive comes back off the bar! Bad luck.

  18. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

Arsenal are seeing a fair bit of the ball so far in these early stages. They do have a squad that like to keep possession and can play some very neat stuff.

  19. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Man City

A drilled Man City free-kick from the right picks out Denmark striker Nadia Nadim at the far post but she can't quite keep it in play. Goal kick.
