Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings: "Lewis Cook's selection for England is well deserved. I see him everyday, training and playing with him and he will feel it is deserved too. He won the World Cup with the U20s and everyone at Bournemouth is delighted for him. He is young and exciting and can go and do whatever he wants.

"Technically, he is superb. He controls the game at Bournemouth and is putting in performances the manager knew he could produce. He can fill a gap for holding on to the ball for England and he is not afraid of getting on the ball. He does not hide and does not let adversity affect him. He has all the attributes."

Bournemouth's team selection owes something to a double substitution made in the 67th minute of last Sunday's defeat by Tottenham - for the two changes to their starting XI from that day see Jordon Ibe and Joshua King come in for the two men they replaced at that instance, Charlie Daniels and Lys Mousset. It looks like an initial 4-4-2, with the right-footed Adam Smith at left-back.

Bournemouth v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

Joshua King has recovered from a neck injury to start as one of two changes to the Bournemouth line-up that started last Sunday’s 4-1 defeat by Tottenham. Jordon Ibe also comes in; Lys Mousset and Charlie Daniels drop to the bench. Midfielder Lewis Cook celebrated his first England call-up on Thursday, and will be in Gareth Southgate's squad for the friendlies against the Netherlands and Italy.

Bournemouth XI: Begovic, Francis, S. Cook, Ake, A. Smith, L. Cook, Gosling, Stanislas, Ibe, Wilson, King.

Substitutes: Boruc, Daniels, Surman, Pugh, Fraser, Mousset, Defoe.

  5. Beware the Albion set-piece?published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2018

Bournemouth v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

It's close to intruding on private grief to cite West Bromwich Albion's recent statistics - seven league and cup losses on the bounce, no away goals in their last three road trips and no away win since August.

However, a crumb of comfort for the Baggies is that one of their three Premier League wins this term came against Bournemouth on the opening day. And keep an eye out for set-pieces - as three of Albion's five top-flight goals against the Cherries have come from headers from dead-ball situations.

  6. Evans returns, Krychowiak droppedpublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2018

Bournemouth v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

As mentioned, Polish midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak is dropped to the bench after that stand-off with Pardew during last weekend’s 4-1 defeat by Leicester. Captain Jonny Evans is restored in defence after missing that game because of illness. There are three changes in all; Oliver Burke and Matt Phillips also drop out as Claudio Yacob and Jay Rodriguez come in.

West Brom XI: Foster, Nyom, Dawson, Hegazi, Evans, Gibbs, Livermore, Yacob, Brunt, Rodriguez, Rondon.

Substitutes: Myhill, Field, Krychowiak, McClean, Burke, Phillips, Robson-Kanu.

  7. 'I'm still in a job'published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2018

    West Bromwich Albion

Alan Pardew has held "clear the air" talks with West Brom's hierarchy about the speculation surrounding his future as manager of the club.

The Baggies are bottom of the Premier League, having won just once since Pardew succeeded Tony Pulis in October.

They are eight points adrift of safety with eight games remaining and travel to Bournemouth on Saturday.

Pardew said: "I told them what I think perhaps needs to happen going forward. They listened and I'm still in a job.

"This weekend and the next couple of weekends, senior players need to deliver and we need to get a win, whichever way it comes."

  8. Appleton on the way?published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 17 March 2018

Bournemouth v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

Krychowiak has been fined and dropped to the bench for today's game following last weekend's indiscretion, despite apologising to Pardew afterwards. The head coach, meanwhile, has been dealing with more speculation surrounding his own future. A report in this morning's Daily Telegraph, external suggests that Leicester assistant manager Michael Appleton is being lined up to replace Pardew this summer.

It can't be much fun being Alan Pardew these days: If he hasn't been fending off questions about taxis in Barcelona, he's been dealing with stroppy players. Last week, Grzegorz Krychowiak reacted furiously to being substituted as Albion slipped to a seventh successive defeat, 4-1 at home to Leicester. Pardew's side are bottom, and the man himself looks doomed.

West Brom's three Premier League wins this season have come against Bournemouth, Burnley and Brighton. Spot the connection?

Could that stat mean that today's the day Albion head coach Alan Pardew finally gets a bit of respite? Temporary respite, probably, but I'm sure he'd welcome it nonetheless. Afternoon everyone: It's Bournemouth v West Brom.
