Anyway, here's what he said and predicted for New v WBA.

"I was at The Hawthorns for 5 live to watch West Brom recover from going 2-0 down to rescue a point against Liverpool last week.

"I think what happened had as much to do with Liverpool as it did the Baggies but it was still a good fightback which means their caretaker manager Darren Moore has now had three games in charge and picked up five points.

"People are saying give Moore the job permanently, but that is ridiculous because his role as a caretaker is completely different to being in charge full time - there are so many different facets to it. It would be a massive gamble.

"Those three results mean West Brom still have the faintest glimmer of hope of survival but I do not see that being the case after this game."

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Plan B's prediction: 2-1

Newcastle make just one change from the line-up that started in the 1-0 defeat at Everton - striker Dwight Gayle replaces Islam Slimani.

West Brom, who will be relegated if they fail to defeat the Magpies, name an unchanged XI from the one that started in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

Striker Daniel Sturridge, ineligible for the game against his parent club last week, is on the bench.

Baggies fans probably don't want to say the 'R' word, although no doubt they've been resigned to their fate for a while.

The death knell might be heard at the cathedral that is St James' Park in just over a couple of hours against a side who themselves had felt the heat before unity, spirit and Kenedy helped them ease away from trouble.

What went wrong with Baggies will continue to be discussed until the new season and beyond. At least temp boss Darren Moore seems to have injected some fight in the team - five points from his three games, one more than A*** P***** did in his final 11 matches.

So here we are - if West Brom don't beat the Magpies then they are down.
