Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock told Sky Sports:

"It was exciting and cracking game. Two top sides. End to end. Excitement at the end and a world class goal for Wolves.

"I'm disappointed to miss two penalties but it's one of those things we had to work hard to lose it.

"It takes some guts to take penalties I couldn't do it. There might have been other players who fancies it more but that's for another day.

[When asked about Nuno's apology] "I don't accept it at all. I think it's out of order and total disgrace. He's got to learn in British football you have class and manners.

"I don't think I'll go in my office until after he's gone. I don't want to see him. I didn't want it to end like that."

Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo told Sky Sports:

"Football is always innovating and it's a fantastic game. That's why we love it so much. It can give and take.

"I think we deserve it. if you look at the game, we had chances not to suffer in the end but that's why people voted for John Ruddy in the team of the season and he gave us victory.

"I was not even thinking about the first penalty (when second was awarded) but I think we should control the emotions better which is my job."

[On his post-match celebrations] "I am thinking about it. It happened at Middlesbrough. I have to say I'm sorry but when I was talking to the assistant, he said in Britain you do that. I love this country and football.

"Last year I was coaching in Champions League and now in the Championship. I am enjoying it. I'm sorry to Tony Pulis and Neil Warnock but it's difficult in those circumstances not to celebrate.

"I will go to his office now and explain to him."

Steve Moorhead: Disgusting lack of class, and sportsmanship, by Warnock at the final whistle. Refusing a hand shake from the Wolves manager at the end of the match. I'm sure he would have still been as miserable, if they had scored those 2 pens. Hope Fulham catch, and pass them now.

In amongst that madness at the end, there was some bad blood between Cardiff boss Neil Warnock and Wolves head coach Nuno Espirito Santo. It looked as if Warnock refused to shake his hand.

Wolves goalscorer Ruben Neves told Sky Sports:

"[When asked about his goal] It's always the same. I want to help the team get the win and we can go home with three important points for us.

"That team are incredible. We deserve these three points.

"Today was a hard game but we can win. We showed our character and our strength at the back."

Wolves captain Conor Coady told Sky Sports:

"It's incredible but this what this division is about. It's the same very season that's why it's so good.

"Two teams fighting to win the game.

"I couldn't believe it. The lad said I pushed him and he's gone down. John Ruddy is a top keeper and he's done it for us tonight.

"It's a huge step towards the Premier League. Cardiff have had a great season and have a great manager but we came here to win. We could have scored more."

Junior Hoilett was the taker the second time around and he smashes it against the crossbar. I can't quite put that into words.

Cardiff's unbeaten run that stretches to December comes to an end in dramatic fashion.

Conor Coady has conceded a penalty.

All 90 minutes are up and the assistant puts up the board to say there will be five minutes of stoppage time.

Yet another Helder Costa run into the box. He does well to hold it up and plays it to Ivan Cavaliero whose low effort is saved.

Costa then goes into the book for attempting to put off Neil Etheridge's clearance.

Another long range effort from Wolves, this time from Ivan Cavaleiro who fires into the arms of Neil Etheridge.

Every minute must feel like an hour for the 3,000 fans from the Black Country.

Well that would have been a possible goal of the season candidate.

Helder Costa controls the ball twice before finding space one on one with Neil Etheridge before shooting wide.

Good lord.

Aron Gunnarsson is completely unmarked outside the box and sends a powerful effort narrowly side.

That was close for Wolves, he'd completely beaten John Ruddy.

Ivan Cavaleiro tees up Alfred N'Diaye, who's finally managed to break up field, but his tame shot from inside the box is easily dealt with by Neil Etheridge at the near post.

Moments later, Anthony Pilkington replaces Kenneth Zohore for Cardiff.

Sol Bamba looks furious as he's trapped offside by the Wolves back line. Anthony Pilkington, who scored Cardiff's last-minute equaliser against Sheffield United on Easter Monday, warms up on the sidelines.
