Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde says they will learn from their recent 2-2 draw against Sevilla in La Liga.

They trailed 2-0 until the 88th minute when Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi scored to keep Barca's unbeaten league run going.

“We were very close to losing that game and only managed to readdress the situation right at the end,” he said.

“We suffered a lot that day, but that was good for us. There are positives to take out of it. It also told us that Sevilla have some very good players who can turn games around at any time.”

Barcelona are bidding to win the Copa del Rey for a fourth consecutive year. Only two teams have done that before - Real Madrid (then called just Madrid) from 1905 to 1908 and Athletic Bilbao from 1930 to 1933.

Barca have won the cup 29 times, six more than anyone else.

This is Sevilla's ninth Copa del Rey final - they have won five of their previous eight - including in 2007 and 2010.

Barcelona could actually win the double this weekend.

If Atletico Madrid lose at home to Real Betis, Sevilla's city rivals, tomorrow then Barcelona win seal the La Liga title with five games to spare.

If Atleti pick up a point or more, then Barca have the chance to do it themselves away to struggling Deportivo La Coruna next Sunday.

Barcelona are only five games from the first unbeaten La Liga season since the 1930s when there was 18 games in a campaign.

John McEnerney: Barcelona will try to right the wrong that happened in Rome. They know what Sevilla bring to the table, they showed they can mix it with the big dogs - ask Bayern. It should be close enough. Barcelona's class and experience should be enough for four in a row but you never know. Let’s get it on!

Sevilla boss Vincenzo Montella is hoping to win his first major trophy as a manager today.

The ex-Catania, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and AC Milan boss replaced Eduardo Berizzo as Sevilla boss in December.

"We have the chance to win a cup against a formidable team and secure a place in the Europa League a month early," the Italian said.

"That's our thoughts now, to put everything possible into facing our opponent. Then we will think about La Liga.

"Messi is out of this world, but we hope he'll be at our level. It's so tough to come against him but at best we need to make sure the ball stays away from him as much as possible."

I'm sure he's not the first manager to have that idea...

“We need to go into this game knowing that we could lose it.

"If you only think you can win it, that’s when things start going wrong. We’ve just had a situation where everyone was tagging us as the favourites and saying the job was already done, and we came unstuck.

"We need to learn from that.”
