  2. 'Hopefully Mexico don't sit back'published at 17:07 British Summer Time 23 June 2018

    South Korea 0-1 Mexico

    David Pleat
Former Tottenham manager on BBC Radio 5 live

Korea have got to work the ball wide and coax the Mexico central defenders out wide.

I just hope Mexico don't sit back. I don't expect them to, even though they are great on the counter attack, as they can win this game by more than one goal if they keep attacking.

John Ng: 1-0 down, one game lost previously. The South Korean team are just letting Mexico pass their way around. Maybe I have become used to watching Tottenham, Man City or Liverpool press the opposition, but South Korea have forgotten they are chasing a game.

  8. 'Mexico in command'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 23 June 2018

    South Korea 0-1 Mexico

    David Pleat
Former Tottenham manager on BBC Radio 5 live

It has been a good half for Mexico, they are in command. The midfield of Herrera and Guardado supported by Layun and Lozano, they have the edge, they look more purposeful,

Meanwhile Korea have been hitting the ball long hoping to get the run of Son Heung-min.

As a group they have dominated enough to justify the lead they have.

CLWebb: Why all the complaining about penalties? A penalty is a penalty. So they shouldn’t be called? Daft.

Steve Pick: Too many penalties, or right decisions being made and cheating getting clamped down on? Apart from the two rugby tackle incidents, obviously...

JB: Absolute scourge on this World Cup is players lying on the ground, feigning injury, so that the opposition have to kick the ball out! Seems to happen 3+ times every match.

Richard Cumiskey: South Korea are so reliant on Son Heung-Min. Apart from him I can't see a way back into this for them.

  19. CLOSE!published at 39 mins

    South Korea 0-1 Mexico

    Son Heung-min is rapid.

The Tottenham man skins Hector Moreno and latches on to a through ball, but Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa is equally quickly off his line to smother the ball.

Excellent keeping from the Football Manager legend.
