    FT: Alashkert 0-3 Celtic

Celtic scorer James Forrest on BBC Radio Scotland: "We finished the game strong and I thought we could have scored another couple.

  3. Rodgers pleased with finishingpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    FT: Alashkert 0-3 Celtic

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was delighted with the victory.

"It was very pleasing because, of the three first-round ties we have played, that was the most difficult," he told BBC Radio Scotland.

"To play in that heat and end up controlling the game was pleasing.

"We concentrated well and scored three very good goals.

"We have a long way to go to get to full capacity, but they kept pushing and got their rewards."

    FT: Alashkert 0-3 Celtic

    Scott McDonald
Former Celtic striker on BBC Sportsound

"Job done. Excellent performance, especially this early on.

"As we well know, it can be sticky, but Alashkert tired at the end as well.

"A couple of moments where Alashkert had chances, but they were all from long range and Craig Gordon was comfortable.

"Two excellent finishes at the end and Callum McGregor picked up where he left off at the end of last season.

"He's made that central midfield role his own now. He's progressed, he's matured and it's going to be hard to displace him, even if they do bring in more bodies."

    FT: Alashkert 0-3 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

"It's a competitive match, so Celtic's players will have gained in fitness, but the confidence and mentality are the important things.

"They're in the swing of that now. There'll be bigger tests coming in the weeks ahead, but they've got off to the perfect start."

  6. FULL-TIME Alashkert 0-3 Celticpublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

Goals from Odsonne Edouard, James Forrest and Callum McGregor all but secure Celtic's place in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.

Alashkert would have to win 4-0 in Glasgow to deny them - and that is not going to happen.

The Armenian champions had their moments, but Celtic showed their greater quality with some emphatic finishing.

While Alashkert will have to make do with dropping into the Europa League, Celtic can now look forward to facing the winners of the tie between Rosenborg of Norway and Iceland's Valur.
