I have been impressed with Tottenham in this first half. They are really exploiting Fulham's full-backs, finding space in behind and getting crosses in.

Fulham are looking to play on the break. In possession they are a good side, but out of possession Tottenham are dominating. Spurs have had four or five good chances, but the worry when you are on top and don't take your chances, Fulham will come back into this game at some point.

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Lovely passage of play involving Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Kieran Trippier presents an opportunity for Christian Eriksen inside the box but the midfielder uncharacteristically scuffs well wide.

  4. CLOSE!published at 22 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Tottenham then immediately go close at the other end as Christian Eriksen drives a decent effort from 25 yards just wide.

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Better from Fulham. The tricky Ryan Sessegnon cleverly evades a sliding challenge from Ben Davies before his shot at the near post is deflected behind for the visitors' first corner of the game. That comes to nothing but that will have been a welcome venture up the pitch for the Fulham players.

  6. 'Sloppy from Fulham'published at 15:19 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

It is incredible the amount of possession Tottenham have. Fulham's defence looks disorganised. Spurs have not played well, but just down to sloppiness from Fulham.

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

This looks every bit a match between one team whose players know each other very well and another that is still getting used to each other. Fulham have barely managed a cohesive passage of play yet.

Still, goalless at Wembley with nearly 20 minutes on the clock. You'd have to say so far so good for the visitors.

  8. 'Not enough contact'published at 15:16 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

I think by appealing for the penalty Harry Kane opens it up to ask if it is a dive. There is not enough contact.

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Surely Harry Kane is going to end his poor August record today? Tottenham are finding gaping holes in the Fulham defence as they break forward with pace. Kane is momentarily through on goal but tumbles to the ground under pressure inside the area. Spurs fans want a penalty but no dice.

J.O. Smithy: It’s gonna be very difficult for Spurs this season. The uncertainty with the stadium and the lack of new faces will make it very challenging if a big star is injured.

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Tottenham getting plenty of joy down the right flank as Kieran Trippier comes forward. His low cross is stabbed away but it doesn't take long before the hosts regain possession.

Defend, defend, defend is the tactic for Fulham the moment.

  12. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Toby Alderweireld flicks a header from a corner towards the far post, Fabri leaps to claim and Fulham can finally catch their breath after a relentless spell from Tottenham.

  13. 'A brave decision'published at 15:09 British Summer Time 18 August 2018

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

The referee has given a foul on the goalkeeper. It is a real difficult one. That is a brave decision to give that as a foul. Fulham are fortunate on both occasions.

  14. CLOSE!published at 7 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Two big let-offs for Fulham! First, Lucas Moura powers a header just wide from close range before the Brazilian races through on goal moments later and is beaten to the ball by Fabri. It spills out to Harry Kane, who flicks in, but it is ruled out for a foul on the Fulham keeper.

  15. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Fulham

Tom Cairney, who scored the decisive goal against Aston Villa in the play-off final, feeds the ball out wide as Fulham enjoy a spell of possession.

It doesn't last long as Christian Eriksen pinches possession and immediately attempts to send Harry Kane on his way but a Fulham player gets to the ball first.

Half a chance for Tottenham almost straight from the off.

Jean Michael Seri gives the ball away just outside the box and Ben Davies is on it but he swipes his shot well wide.
