They are all over the place at the back and, for me, they have to go to a back five for a while because they are getting space behind the full-backs. They are used to this surface and have taken advantage

  8. How Hibs hit Runavik for sixpublished at 19:44 British Summer Time 19 July 2018

    Runavik v Hibernian (1-6)

With just a few minutes to go until kick-off, a reminder of how the first leg went...

Florian Kamberi fired in an early penalty on his way to a hat-trick, while goalkeeper Tordur Thomsen gifted Stevie Mallan the first of his two goals. The midfielder was close to a treble on his debut since he also smacked a long-range strike against the crossbar.

Oli Shaw was the other Hibs scorer, rifling in a great strike.

The visitors made life difficult for themselves when Einar Trondargjogv was shown a first-half red card for thundering into a reckless challenge on Martin Boyle but there was a moment to savour for Petur Knudsen, who stood out in a very ordinary team, as his free kick found its way home via a deflection.

    Watch the highlights below.

It was a great bit of business from Hibs to get Florian Kamberi back in and he started off with a hat-trick. There were other clubs vying for his signature, Sunderland being one

Hibs were smart to include a clause in the Swiss striker's loan deal, giving them the first option on his signature for a set fee.

With nine goals in 14 games last season, it was no surprise to see the Easter Road club snap up the 23-year-old from Grasshoppers, who might just be kicking themselves...

  10. Late switch of goalie for Runavikpublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 19 July 2018

    Runavik v Hibernian (1-6)

A late change of goalkeeper for Runavik. Tordur Thomsen, who had a bit of a stinker at Easter Road, is replaced by Eli Joensen.

He must of hurt himself in the warm-up or had some kind of damaging flashback at the sight of Hibs striker Florian Kamberi.

  11. No fuss in the Faroespublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 19 July 2018

    Runavik v Hibernian (1-6)

Hibs are not the first Scottish club to face opposition from the Faroe Islands but it's been a while.

Motherwell enjoyed a 7-1 aggregate success against Havnar Bóltfelag in 1994, while Raith Rovers beat Gotu by a 6-2 margin in the following season.

Rangers also played Gotu, winning 5-0 away and 6-0 at home in 1997.

If the Svangaskard Stadium sounds familiar, that's because Scotland have toiled in Toftir not once but twice.

In 1999, Matt Elliott was sent off as European Championship qualifying game ended in a dismal 1-1 draw.

Three years later in the same competition, one of the most lamentable 45 minutes in the national side's history had them trailing 2-0 at the interval, with a late Barry Ferguson goal rescuing a point.

It was third time lucky in 2007, with a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Shaun Maloney and former Hibee Garry O'Connor.

While Scotland continues to bask in glorious summer weather, it's a bit soggy and cold in Toftir. I hope the 300 or so intrepid travelling fans remembered to pack waterproofs since the stadium provides little shelter from the elements.

  15. Rundown on Runavikpublished at 19:13 British Summer Time 19 July 2018

    Runavik v Hibernian (1-6)

    Quick geography lesson...

Runavik is a small town or a large village of 3,800 people in the south of Eysturoy, which is in the north of the group of islands that make up the Faroes.

The village's port was originally for fishing boats but now is a key supply base for the North Sea oil industry and freight, while the odd cruise ship pops in.

A massive project has already started to build an 11 km-long sub-sea tunnel between Runavík and Torshavn by 2019.

Any Hibs fans in Runavik should turn back now since tonight's match is not taking place at the 2,000-capacity Runavik Stadium and has been moved to nearby Toftir and the 6,000-capacity Svangaskard Stadium.

    More about the venue later.

  16. Three changes for Hibspublished at 19:08 British Summer Time 19 July 2018

    Runavik v Hibernian (1-6)

Hibernian XI: Bogdan, Whittaker, Ambrose, Porteous, Gray, Bartley, McGinn, Mallan, Stevenson, Shaw, Kamberi.

Defender Paul Hanlon was left at home nursing a muscle strain from the first leg and his place in defence goes to teenager Ryan Porteous.

Captain David Gray also comes in, along with midfield enforcer Marvin Bartley, as Darren McGregor and Martin Boyle rest minor knocks.

Striker Simon Murray, who appeared as a substitute in the first leg, did not travel as he is close to finalising a move to South African club Bidvest Wits.

We'll have the full line-ups for you shortly.

  17. 'He's fit and ready to go'published at 19:03 British Summer Time 19 July 2018

    Runavik v Hibernian (1-6)

Hibernian head coach Neil Lennon on the inclusion of John McGinn: "He's fit and ready so he plays. We need him up to speed because we've got an important game next week.

"This is an opportunity for players who didn't feature last week to get some valuable game time. We're building to a step up in class next week."

Lennon tells BBC Radio Scotland that Martin Boyle and Darren McGregor are resting minor injuries - an ongoing Achilles issue for the wing-back and a "spot of puffiness" on the knee for the big defender.

"The pitch is quick and I think it will suit us," he says of the Astroturf after some heavy rain.

"I want some more goals and I'm sure the strikers will be hungry for more.

"We need to get as much as possible out of this game in terms of fitness and sharpness."

  18. McGinn is in!published at 19:01 British Summer Time 19 July 2018

    Runavik v Hibernian (1-6)

The big news is that John McGinn starts.

Celtic have had two bids rejected for the 23-year-old midfielder, who has a year of his Easter Road contract to run.

He missed the first leg of this tie with a reported thigh strain but now that he's playing he would be ineligible for Celtic's Champions League qualifiers if the Scottish champions come back in for him.

  19. Note to self... avoid 'monumental self-destruction'published at 18:58 British Summer Time 19 July 2018

    Runavik v Hibernian (1-6)

It's not often Scottish football fans can relax on an away trip in Europe. Throw in opposition that are halfway through their league campaign and an artificial pitch and knees might start knocking in trepidation.

However, Hibs are surely home and dry after a handsome 6-1 first-leg victory against the Faroese part-timers of NSI Runavik and tonight's game should simply provide further match practice for a meeting with Greek side Asteras Tripoli in the next round of Europa League qualifying.

"It would take a monumental self-destruction for us not to qualify," said manager Neil Lennon yesterday.

There are a few sub-plots to keep things interesting though...
