Arsenal haven't gotten hold of this game. Newcastle are the better side, creating more chances and exploiting the open spaces.

The home fans are enjoying themselves when Petr Cech gets the ball and there was plenty of appreciation for Jacob Murphy's determination just then.

You almost expect something to happen every time Petr Cech is given the ball.

There's no time for the Arsenal back-line, but they seem determined to play it out regardless of the situation.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez said in the build-up to this match that he has known Unai Emery for a "long, long time" and it certainly looks as if he knows the Arsenal manager's tactics pretty well.

Defeat for Newcastle this afternoon would equal their worst ever return from their opening five Premier League fixtures.

It's difficult to know how much to really take from that given their opening fixtures however and they've certainly started with plenty of energy here.

Arsenal have been trying to build from the back in the opening minutes but the home side have been quick to put them under pressure.

The Gunners haven't really been able to do anything yet as a result.
