    Man Utd 1-0 Wolves

Wolves play some lovely stuff. Nuno Espirito Santo's side patiently look for an opening before springing Diogo Jota down the left.

He tries to scoop it through Chris Smalling's legs, but the England defender stands strong.

    Can't claim that one.

Eteyen: That touch from Pogba. Oh My Word that was beautiful

PJ: Good to see Fred off the mark with his first MUFC goal! More to come!!

Paul: Lovely finish by Fred, but that touch from Pogba was absolutely sublime. MUFC don't deserve the lead, but I'll definitely take it!!

    Man Utd 1-0 Wolves

Paul Pogba looks in the mood, trying to play little touches around the Wolves midfield, but the Frenchman just over runs it in the box and Matt Doherty nips in.

Wolves have been quick on the break, but opt to keep the ball for a moment. Just regrouping.

    Man Utd 1-0 Wolves

Wolves must feel pretty hard done by, but that goal will play right into Jose Mourinho's hands.

It's the visitors who will have to open up looking to get back into the game.

    They've had their chances...

A first Premier League goal for Fred, then - I'm sure Sir Alex Ferguson enjoyed that on his return to Old Trafford.

That there is the difference at this level.

You have go to take your opportunities at this point. Wolves should be 3-0 up and it was decent bit of play from United.

A fantastic touch from Pogba who pushed it into the path of Fred and it was a great finish.

A shot from 20 yards and they find themselves 1-0 up.

    Fred (18 mins)

    Well, well, well...

Wolves fail to take their chances and Manchester United go down the other and score.

Wonderful touch from Paul Pogba as the ball drops out of the air on the edge of the box, just nonchalantly guiding it into Fred's path, and the Brazilian does the rest.

Quick look up, low drive into the bottom right corner and Jose Mourinho's side are ahead.

  8. CLOSE!published at 16 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Wolves

Wolves should be in front! They need to take one of these chances.

Again Manchester United fail to deal with a corner and it's a header from close range for Willy Boly, who's unmarked.

Luckily for United, David de Gea is alert and gets a strong hand to it.

Diogo Jota has been causing a few problems early on. United's solution? Three-man sandwich. Flattened.

Wolves break quickly again, but Raul Jimenez is isolated and happy to win a corner.

Ooo. Ryan Bennett out-jumps Paul Pogba from a corner, but can't direct his header on target.

The Wolves defender did well to win the header, but probably should have done better once he got to it.

It's a real interesting battle going on with two different formations.

Defensively Wolves are a back five to try and compete. The moment Wolves win the ball they attack within their system. They are both showing respect defensively.

It's been a fantastic start to the game.

Better from Manchester United, working it through Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw and Alexis Sanchez, before Fred skews a shot wide under pressure from the Wolves defence.

He's adamant he should have had a free-kick. Referee Kevin Friend thinks otherwise.

Helder Costa is loving life out on the right for Wolves.

He breezes past Victor Lindelof on halfway and darts towards the Manchester United area, but can't pick out another white shirt with his cross.

The hosts are giving him far too much space.

    Big chance for Raul Jimenez!

Great feet from the Mexico forward as he swivels smartly in the box and gets a shot off on goal after another slick attacking move from Wolves.

David de Gea gets a foot to it, and United scramble clear.

Great work from Helder Costa down the right.

    Open game, this.

Antonio Valencia goes down under pressure in the box at one end, before Wolves set off on the break and Raul Jimenez fails to connect properly with a low Matt Doherty cross.

Back down the other end again, and United win a corner after smart play from Jesse Lingard.

Good movement from the visitors as Diogo Jota scampers forward and wins a corner.

Manchester United clear and Willy Boly can only help an unorthodox attempt at a volley as the ball drops high out of the sky well over the crossbar.

Hang about, Wolves are having to re-take kick-off. That's unusual.

Raul Jimenez rolls it back and it's booted straight out of play.

    Worth it.
