Everton will be disappointed because they had a great chance before Leicester scored. Jordan Pickford tried to gamble that Ricardo Pereira would go near post.

Now it's the Everton captain's turn to get booked. Tom Davies shown the yellow card for bringing down Jamie Vardy as he looked to counter.

Leicester come forward again as Ricardo Pereira crosses from the right and finds Jamie Vardy, but his header is comfortably saved. Jordan Pickford then immediately kicks the ball long towards Richarlison who is cynically brought down by Wes Morgan. Yellow card for the Leicester captain.

This was been a wonderful game so far. Everton respond to that Vardy chance by forcing two corners in quick succession, the second of which from Gylfi Sigurdsson drifts out for a goal kick.

What a chance for Leicester! Jamie Vardy races onto a ball over the top, nudges ahead of Michael Keane but his shot goes wide! You've seen Vardy score those types of goals so often in recent years. A big let off for Everton.

Daniel Amartey is booked for a foul on Bernard near the halfway line.

Theo Walcott intercepts a stray Leicester pass and runs at the heart of the Foxes defence. Harry Maguire stands his ground as Walcott darts past him and goes down on the edge of the box. Referee Andre Marriner waves play on though with replays suggesting contact was minimal.

Neat skill by Bernard as he turns away from Wilfred Ndidi before his shirt is tugged back by Ricardo Pereira for a free-kick inside the Toffees' half. Pereira perhaps a little lucky not to be carded there.

Another opportunity for Everton as Theo Walcott tees up Gylfi Sigurdsson to have a pop from distance. Kasper Schmeichel gets down low to parry before diving on the ball with Richarlison lurking.

Everton's high press is pushing Leicester deep into their own half. Ben Chilwell very nearly dribbles the ball out for a corner before being forced to clear out for a throw - which the Foxes eventually clear.

It's been a really entertaining match so far with both sides looking dangerous going forward. I don't want to jinx it but I smell more goals in this one.

Everton look impressive going forward as a counter-attack results in Theo Walcott curling an effort from just inside the area that's tipped over by Kasper Schmeichel. The Leicester goalkeeper then does well to clear the corner from under his own crossbar.

First signs of a response from Leicester as Ben Chilwell puts in a cross from the left that finds Jamie Vardy, but his flicked header drifts wide of the post.

Marco Silva wanted a response from his side after their midweek Carabao Cup defeat and he has certainly got it in the opening stages. Impressive stuff from the Toffees so far.

It's nearly two as Richarlison's scuffed shot heads towards Gylfi Sigurdsson inside the six-yard box, but the Iceland midfielder is denied by a combination of Wes Morgan and Kasper Schmeichel. Sigurdsson calls for a penalty but only a corner is given, which Leicester clear.

Early chance for Leicester as James Maddison's through-pass finds Kelechi Iheanacho, he tries to find Jamie Vardy with a low cross into the middle but he can't direct it and Jordan Pickford claims.

Let off for Wilfred Ndidi as he gives the ball straight to Bernard deep inside his own half, the Everton man can't make the most of the opportunity though and Leicester clear.

There's a decent atmosphere in the King Power Stadium with both sets of fans making themselves heard. Leicester dominating the early possession with nothing to show for it so far.
