    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

    That's it!

Newcastle secure back-to-back victories in the Premier League while condemning Bournemouth to consecutive defeats.

The home side were well worth their victory on the whole, with Salomon Rondon a standout performer for the hosts.

A really entertaining game in truth, though a seemingly nasty injury to Adam Smith overshadows it somewhat. We wish him the best.

  3. Postpublished at 90+2

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

It's all getting a bit heated as Salomon Rondon confronts Lewis Cook for a challenge.

They're best of friends again now though. Get on with the football.

  4. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Salomon Rondon wins a clever free-kick for the home side to eat up a few more seconds.

Time is running out for the visitors as we enter stoppage-time. They were undone by a late goal last weekend, can they make amends...

  5. CLOSE!published at 88 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

The chance for the hat-trick for Rondon!

And it's saved by Asmir Begovic who has had a great game despite the scoreline.

As I write that he collects the corner that follows, too.

Will Newcastle regret that moment? Bournemouth are charging up the field.

  6. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 84 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Bournemouth think they've found an equaliser!

But it's immediately ruled out - correctly - for an offside.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Jermain Defoe is on, welcomed by a chorus of boos from the Newcastle support.

Jordon Ibe makes way. What have the visitors got in this last 10 minutes?

  8. CLOSE!published at 79 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

An almost immediate impact from Christian Atsu who cuts inside before unleashing a curled effort to the right of Asmir Begovic.

The Bournemouth keeper has produced plenty of fine saves this afternoon to keep his side in the contest and that one is up there with one of his best.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 77 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

It's well dealt with as Newcastle hold firm.

Christian Atsu is now on for the hosts - replacing Mohamed Diame who has worked tirelessly in the centre of the park for the Magpies.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 75 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Kenedy receives plenty of applause from the home crowd as he goes off to be replaced by Ciaran Clark.

A long throw incoming for Bournemouth...

  11. CLOSE!published at 72 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

That was a huge chance for Jordon Ibe!

Bournemouth put a few slick passes together on the edge of the penalty area before Ibe is played through on goal. He absolutely has to hit the target as a minimum requirement but launches his shot high into the crowd.

    Had to do better.

  12. Postpublished at 69 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Salomon Rondon has had seven shots so far in this game - more than double that of any Bournemouth player.

Ryan Fraser has been the Cherries' main threat, but they haven't looked as fluid going forward as they have in recent weeks. Credit to Newcastle on that front, they've not given the visitors any time on the ball.

  13. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Newcastle have slowed things down now, as they sway between moments of trying to kill the game and trying to ruin Bournemouth's rhythm.

They'll be happy with how this is going, the home side, because they do look a threat on the break after absorbing pressure from the Cherries.

  14. CLOSE!published at 61 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Kenedy breaks from the Bournemouth corner and Newcastle get men forward quickly.

The chance looks to have gone but Matt Ritchie gathers the ball and sends an effort narrowly wide of the Cherries' goal. That could've been that.

  15. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Try not to get too excited, but five of the seven Premier League goals to come in this fixture before today have been scored in the 80th minute or later.

Bournemouth are growing in confidence in this second half too, and they have a corner here...

  17. CLOSE!published at 55 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

A chance for the hat-trick for Salomon Rondon goes begging.

Matt Ritchie delivers the cross on this occasion, but the Venezuelan can't quite direct his header to the inside of the post.

Everything Newcastle send into the area has been met by Rondon today.

Simon: Come on The Cherries! Let’s turn this one around, you are more than good enough

Phil: It's like they've taken a goal scoring laxative isn't it?

    Very eloquently put Phil...

Ben: There's an error on your website, it's saying that Newcastle are winning again. That's two weeks on the trot now it can't be right surely?

  20. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Newcastle 2-1 Bournemouth

Bournemouth are trying to ask questions of the home side now, with Callum Wilson trying to create an opportunity.

He's looked isolated at times today, and certainly needs more support if the Cherries are going to turn this one around.
