    Wolves 1-0 Bournemouth

It has to be said too, that Bournemouth have been pretty expert in closing Wolves down and forcing mistakes.

Tyrone Mings slides in to block a Raul Jimenez through ball looking for Morgan Gibbs-White down the touchline.

Steve Cook then makes a last-ditch slide to stop Diogo Jota's run. Better from the home side now.

    Wolves 1-0 Bournemouth

Tyrone Mings and Charlie Daniels work the overlap again but Mings' cross is picked off on the edge of the Wolves box.

The home side are only interested in risking possession on the counter attack. Bournemouth are having almost all of the ball.

  3. CHANCE!published at 22 mins

    Wolves 1-0 Bournemouth

Junior Stanislas rashly fires over the bar on the volley after a really smart spin in the box to open up space for a pop. Good play - patient and precise passing - in the build-up led to Tyrone Mings drilling in the cross in a left-wing overlap.

I think that Jota shoots for goal, mis-hits it, but Jimenez runs in on the ball at the far post, which is good centre forward play.

Bournemouth have given the ball away in such an area it has caught them on the break and they can’t readjust.

    Wolves 1-0 Bournemouth

Is it just me or does Steve Cook look like Mark Ronson?

Bournemouth have had almost 70% possession so far.

  6. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Wolves 1-0 Bournemouth

Rui Patricio's awkward clearance helped on its way by Joao Moutinho. Wolves lead, but they have been far from convincing. Bournemouth were the brighter side before the goal.

  7. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Wolves 1-0 Bournemouth

Ryan Fraser whips a cross over into the Wolves box and the tricky bounce almost sweeps into Charlie Daniels' challenging body. The Bournemouth man is just held far away from the ball by his marker for the home side to watch it bounce away.

GOAL - Wolves 1-0 Bournemouthpublished at 12 mins

    Raul Jimenez

It's an absolute gift. Charlie Daniels sprays a pass across the park straight to Diogo Jota. He runs at the Bournemouth defence, breezing past two players with a lovely turn of pace before firing a shot on goal that hits heels and is deflected.

Raul Jimenez is there - with the keeper taken out of the game - to smash in the opener. From nothing. Eddie Howe will be furious.

  9. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Bournemouth

There is very little in the way of Wolves pressure on the ball. Loads of space for Bournemouth in the home side's half.

Jordon Ibe takes advantage and jinks past two men on the right wing before running into trouble.

Joshua King then plays a pass straight to Ruben Neves, wins it back, and hits the ball sloppily out of play.

  10. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Bournemouth

Lots of space for Bournemouth to play it about on the edge of the Wolves penalty area. Maybe they knew all along Charlie Daniels would swipe at a cross and miss the ball altogether.

  11. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Bournemouth

Important block from Nathan Ake. Bournemouth give the ball away sloppily at the back again and the defender manages to stop Ruben Neves' promising through ball.

Morgan Gibbs-White was making a dangerous looking angled run in behind - and would have had plenty of space to play with.

  12. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Bournemouth

Have Wolves targeted Tyrone Mings? Diogo Jota is straight onto his touch - again slightly heavy - but this time the Bournemouth man manages to recover.

  13. CHANCE!published at 3 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Bournemouth

Great start this! They've got to keep warm somewhow.

Joshua King is played into space inside the box and is only denied by a sliding Conor Coady block, the Wolves captain diverting behind for a corner when King had the whole goal to shoot at.

    Wolves 0-0 Bournemouth

Tyrone Mings is caught at the back - a heavy touch on the ball lets a Wolves man in to steal possession in the box. The cross comes in deflected towards Diogo Jota, who slices at the half-chance.

    Wolves 0-0 Bournemouth

A very slick start from Bournemouth - every touch is perfect from Ryan Fraser, Andrew Surman and Joshua King as the Norwegian forward turns sharply in the box before cutting back into a dangerous area. Potentially dangerous in any case. Only Willy Boly was there.

    Bournemouth do this every year.

They go on a streak of losses but it does not wobble them, it does not change their style of play and they keep going.

I don't see Wolves losing this one, I fancy them to win.

It's the first top-flight meeting between these two sides but it seems sure to be the first of many.

Two straight wins for Wolves has restored self-belief after a run of just one point in six games, and they continue to exhibit a quality in their play that is ideally suited to the Premier League.

They're a completely different proposition to their predecessors of 2011-12, who were relegated with fewer victories throughout the campaign than this current side have earned in their first 16 matches.

That Bournemouth arrive similarly placed in the top half of the table owes everything to their brilliant start to the season, as five defeats in their last six matches has begun to seriously stunt their progress.

Conditions? It's pretty grim out there. Freezing rain is probably your best bet to describe it, although in keeping with the seasonal optimism, I might allow you sleet.
