Well, there’s no doubt about that one. Steven Naismith nods into an empty net to double the advantage. Given head-to-head might come into play in this group, it might be wise to not settle for two goals.

  10. Postpublished at 69mins

    Scotland 2-0 Albania

Scotland seem certain to increase their lead as Johnny Russell breaks into the penalty box.

When Steven Naismith is beaten to the cut-back, the deflection is picked up by Stephen O'Donnell, who sets up Callum McGregor.

But the midfielder's shot is blocked in front of goal.

  15. Own goal?published at 21:06 British Summer Time 10 September 2018

    Scotland 1-0 Albania

There seems to be a bit of debate about whether the goal is an own goal.

Steven Naismith's header definitely came off Berat Xhimshiti but seemed to be heading for goal before it did.

However, the Scottish FA and Uefa are giving it to the Albania defender.

If it had been two or three {goals} then you could've said that was thoroughly deserved. That was required - the goal has been scored and now you can expect Scotland to go on and take control of this game.
