    Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao

Barca full-back Nelson Semedo has had a bright start, finding himself in the centre-forward position for some reason.

He plays a cute pass wide left to the run of Jordi Alba's but the Spain international's cross is cut out.

  2. CLOSE!published at 15:36 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao

Barca are all over the place at the back.

The dangerous Raul Garcia slips in a pass through to Inaki Williams, who is in again.

The forward goes round goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, has a free goal to aim at, but cannot get a shot away because of the presence of Arturo Vidal, who does well to shunt Williams wide and snuff out the danger.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:32 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao

Bilbao are growing into the game after a slow start.

The Barca midfielders fail to pick up Raul Garcia in the middle of the park, who says, 'fine, I'll take it on'.

The former Atletico Madrid man bursts forward and smacks a left-footed strike goalwards which Marc-Andre ter Stegen has to tip over the crossbar.

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:31 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao

    How close was this!

Barca are caught out at the back with a long ball over the top and Bilbao striker Inaki Williams is through on goal.

He attempts to take it first time with a side-footed, lobbed finish, but strikes his effort just wide.

That was very easy for the visitors and will give them hope.

  5. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao

France World Cup winner Samuel Umtiti is not fit to play today for Barca.

He is sporting some snazzy, bronze coloured shades while sat in the stands.

  6. CLOSE!published at 15:25 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao

    What an effort.

Luis Suarez steps up and whips the free-kick over the wall and inches wide of the post.

Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon was scrambling across but I don't think he was getting to it.

  7. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao

Sergi Roberto is playing in the hole for Barcelona today.

He makes his way forward and is chopped down from behind by Bilbao striker Inaki Williams.

The hosts have a free-kick around 30 yards out.

  8. Postpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao

With the news of Lionel Messi being on the bench for Barca, it has gone unnoticed that Sergio Busquets is there next to him.

Certainly an interesting line-up selected by Ernesto Valverde after the surprise defeat by Leganes last time out.

  9. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao

    Superb play from Philippe Coutinho.

The Brazilian skins a Bilbao midfielder in the middle of the park and exchanges passes with former Liverpool team-mate Luis Suarez.

He trots forward and goes down in the box, but the referee waves play on.

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 29 September 2018

    Finally.

Off we go at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona were up against bottom side Leganes in their last game - an easy three points for the champions, you would think.

    How wrong could you be!

Lionel Messi and co suffered a shock loss and Real Madrid followed suit with a heavy defeat at Sevilla - the first time since 4 January 2015 that the two Spanish giants have lost on the same day.

Both can make amends today, starting with Ernesto Valderde's side's encounter against Athletic Bilbao this afternoon.
