Both teams are so capable on their day. It's a great sporting story for all young players around the world. Tottenham and Liverpool were dead and buried and no one other than the manager would have given them a chance. It was unbelievable resolve to keep digging and it was meant to be.

I have just about recovered. There was some screaming and then I completely choked up and lost my voice. I was all over the place and it was raw emotion. Disbelief and shock. This last month of football in the Champions League and the Premier League has been unbelievable.

Certain players like Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld have been at that club for a long time trying to develop themselves and I do not think they envisaged playing in a European Cup final for Tottenham. Liverpool have been in finals for years and it is rooted in their history. Spurs need these days, and if they can win it, it sends them into a completely different stratosphere.

Managers have everything thrown at them and that was a night for him. He may never get this sort of game ever again and I'm delighted for him and the football club. It is the best night in the club's history.

My players are heroes - in the last year I was telling everyone this group are heroes. The second half they were amazing. Thank you football - this type of emotion without football is no possible. Pochettino then wells up with tears...

"I want to remember my family... it's amazing to reward them. We need to be ready for the next game on Sunday then prepare for the final."

Let's make a pledge to remember this Ajax side as one of the best we've seen in recent years. They blew it at the end but they were magnificent throughout the competition.

I think we can all agree that the 2018-19 season of Netflix Drama 'The Champions League' is one of the best ever.

A bit far-fetched at times, didn't buy that whole Salah/Kane injury storyline. Origi and Moura to win it?

Tottenham used Liverpool as an example and Ajax stopped doing what worked in the first half. I don't know what system Spurs were playing but somehow they have got themselves to a final.

My absolute favourite scenario in football is Team A defending a seemingly comfortable lead but Team B having the belief/having nothing to lose and throwing everything at them.

See: last two nights. You just don't get that with snooker.

Christian Eriksen: "It was a ridiculous game, we were really far down, we tried to fight back, we were just lucky, I feel sorry for Ajax, they played a very good game against us, today we mostly created more chance, football they played better, it is relief, we have been fighting for this, it is a dream to be in the final.

"We felt like we weren’t able to look ourselves in the mirror if we were to go down three or four nil. We had to fight, we scored early to get some momentum, put them under pressure. We are lucky the ball falls in the right direction, Luca had a wonderful game we are relieved

Tonight was nothing to do with tactics and it was about sheer determination and heart. They just had a go in the second half and they left everything out there.

Fernando Llorente has caused problems with his sheer presence and not even playing that well.

Tottenham full-back Danny Rose: "We saw Liverpool last night. It goes to show it's not over until it's over. Disappointed with the first leg how we started and we started like that tonight. But after the break we came out.

"The gaffer mentioned Liverpool's display at the hotel before the match - the gaffer doesn't mind us losing but we have to lose the right way.

"We're lucky we've gone through and we look forward to the Champions League final."
