A memorable evening for Bournemouth and a very forgettable one for Chelsea and Maurizio Sarri.

Liverpool will lead by five points at the start of February which is still a pretty good position to be in.

BBC One

Marcus: Sarri can only blame himself and his poor management. You can't bring in Jorginho and make him instantly undroppable despite his inability to defend, assist or score.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson: "We had chances [to win], there’s no doubt about that.

"Especially in the second half we had balls cleared off the line and several other very good opportunities.

"Of course we’re going to be a bit disappointed, and to lose a player through a sending off is even more disappointing."

On Zaha's red card: "His reaction to not receiving a foul when he was clearly pushed off the ball – obviously people do get frustrated [in those situations]. But I can’t condone him applauding the referee after getting the yellow card – that is something you can’t do."

Leicester City

Leicester defender Ben Chilwell speaking to BBC Sport: "If you come to Anfield before the game and someone says you'll get a point you'd take it.

"We're not too disappointed but we felt we could have got more. We're still very happy though. We probably have the worst record in the league for our starts and it's something we are trying to address.

"We played well today and in the second-half, to play the way we did, I was very happy with the boys.

"We can say we're motivated but we should be for every game. We need to take this form into teams who aren't in the top six. If we can play well then I'm sure we can do that.

"To come to a place like this and get a good result, we are very happy."

Louis: Klopp finished 8th in his first season. As well as finally nurturing their youth, Chelsea also need to keep a manager for longer than 2 seasons. We need to build a team around the manager like Liverpool or City. That takes more than Jorginho and half a season.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "I think we fully deserved the victory. It arrived late but we kept pushing. It was a fantastic second-half performance. The first half, it was difficult to create chances - we dominated but didn't create. It's fantastic to win again after a difficult week... it's nice to smile. The mentality is perfect."

On Son Heung-min: "He finished with cramp. We hope he will be fine for Newcastle."

On Fernando Llorente: "I'm very happy for him. With the possibility to play he will help the team and that goal today is massive."

Barcelona have just absolutely hammered Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.

Juventus were knocked out of Coppa Italia by Atalanta following a 3-0 defeat.

And Nantes paid tribute to former player and missing striker Emiliano Sala, who signed for Cardiff earlier this month before his plane disappeared near Guernsey.

I think Sarri calling the players out will have a detrimental effect. I don’t think they like to hear their manager say those kinds of things. In public it is not the done thing for me. If a manager wants to say anything to you just keep it in the dressing room.

Tell your players to their face you are not happy with this, you’re hard to motivate. You’ll accept that. But when you tell the public expecting a reaction that is not going to help that togetherness they seem to be lacking at the moment.

Hmm.

Jon Spurling: The team may not stay there, and were less than convincing last night, but Arsenal now find themselves in 4th place. Fortunately the Gunners’ destiny this season is at least partly in the hands of others too, and not just our defence. Lucky eh?

Bournemouth

Speaking to Match of the Day, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said: "That has got to be up there [as one of my best results]. It was a big night for us, and it is great to do it here in front of our own fans."

On David Brooks' marking of Jorginho: "It was something we looked at and planned and David did a brilliant job beyond his years with his diligence, and then he showed his class at the other end as well, so I'm pleased for him.

"We have always been known for our attacking play but our defensive play needed looking at. We had long periods without the ball so full credit to all of our players. Artur Boruc was superb and his save very early in the match was world class.

"It is a good place to be but we have high standards and high expectations. The wins are the most important things and we are very pleased with how our season is shaping up."

Watford

Watford boss Javi Gracia speaking to BBC Sport: "We are disappointed because we have missed a very good chance to get points. It's a good sign of our demands with ourselves that we are disappointed.

"They had more possession but we defended well, created some chances and scored and we worked very well. Then at the end of the game we conceded two goals. They changed their shape and put on more offensive players but we had good chances."

Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson speaking to BT Sport: "We are disappointed with the result because we wanted the win but Leicester are a good side.

"It wasn't our best performance but we kept going and just couldn't find the winner. We'll take the point and move on to the next game.

"They defended well. We didn't really do enough. There's things we can improve on. The conditions were difficult too but that's the same for both teams.

On the goal they conceded: "We could have cleared it and didn't defend it so we are disappointed with that."

Penalty? "It looked like a penalty from where I was. The ref was closer than me so he had a better view. You'll probably know better than me!

"All we can do is concentrate on ourselves. We can play much better and do more so we just need to keep working."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente speaking to Sky Sports: "I am really happy because today was a tough game. To help the team with a massive goal today is very important. More so after the past two games in cups that we lost. We needed to come back to winning ways."

On standing in for the injured Harry Kane: "It's a big responsibility. I'm ready to help the team and will be stronger every game."

Chelsea seem a little bit soft through the core when their backs are against the wall and the going gets tough.

The guy you expect to help, Kante isn't deployed where you would want him, in front of the back for to stop the opposition getting opportunities. He's at right wing at times. it is a strange situation.

Sure he brings more offensively now but why would you want that when you have a player who does what he does. Jorginho played in there tonight and Bournemouth scored four goals.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe:

"It has been a good night. Chelsea did well, Boruc made some world class saves. We built on that and in the end scored some wonderful goals.

Better than the 3-0 last season?: "Possibly. That game was slightly different, I think we played better football in that game last season. This game we rode our luck early but counter attacked superbly. That is a feature I’ll remember from this game.

On Daniels' goal: "The whole crowd understood, he’s had a difficult time, but with the strength of character he has showed he deserved that moment with the crowd. His dad has been seriously ill, we continue to wish him well."

S Nasir: Klopp's naivety once again costing LFC. Nothing worked all night. Should have switched things at the interval or sooner.

Leicester City

Leicester manager Claude Puel: "Of course I am proud of my players. It was another difficult start to the game. We conceded after two minutes but we didn't lose our structure.

"At the end we had more chances and it could have been better at the end. We deserved the win with the chances we had.

On Harry Maguire's clash with Sadio Mane: "I didn't see the replay but I think it was a circumstance. It was not a red card.

Penalty? "Are you a Liverpool fan? It is the same question!" He jokes.

"I think we had the right decision from the referee. There is no excuse for Liverpool."
