He makes a fine save as team-mate Josh Edwards deflects a Dedryck Boyata header towards his own goal, but Scott Sinclair reacts first to turn the ball into the net for his second goal of the game.

  12. Aberdeen 'fortunate to still be in cup'published at 18:12 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    FT: Aberdeen 1-1 Stenhousemuir

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes thinks Stenhousmuir merited their replay after a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie.

"It's no more than Stenhousemuir deserve," he tells BBC Scotland. "We had the bulk of possession and the better chances, but we were wasteful.

"When you waste chances at 1-0, the opposition will always believe they've got a chance.

"Credit Stenhousemuir, they stuck to their task, waited for that one opportunity and they take it.

"Sporadically, we had good moments, but the taste in your mouth is from the result and it's safe to say we are fortunate to still be in the cup."

  13. Stenny celebrate 'huge result'published at 18:11 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January 2019

    FT: Aberdeen 1-1 Stenhousemuir

Stenhousemuir boss Colin McMenamin hopes a draw at Pittodrie can help lift confidence for the rest of the season.

The Warriors, who are stuck at the bottom of League One, earned a replay when Mark McGuigan crashed in a great header on 71 minutes.

"We tried to frustrate Aberdeen and we limited them in the first half," Colin McMenamin tells BBC Scotland. "Second half, we rode our luck a wee bit, but the boys have worked so hard.

"I said we'd get a chance or two and, believe it or not, we've been working on headers.

"It's a huge result. We're a small community club. We had 300 fans here to watch us, which is brilliant. I just hope they start coming to home games now.

"It's something for us to build on and use as we try to climb up the league."

Not a lot of clear cut chances until the penalty. I'm not so sure it was a penalty but Hutton does ever so well. You've got to say what a couple of good saves from Scott Bain who came up trumps for Celtic at the end of the first half.
