  1. goal

GOAL - Newcastle 0-1 Watfordpublished at 16:18 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Andre Gray (62 mins)

What a goal that is! It's been a poor game but Watford take the lead wit ha cracking goal. An incisive pass from defence finds Will Hughes in midfield, he spins out of a tackle and then plays a beautiful reverse pass into the run of Andre Gray. Gray has lots to do but makes it look easy, firing under the keeper from about 16 yards.

    Superb.

    Shrewsbury 1-0 Wolves

Wolves bring on striker Raul Jimenez as they look for a way back into this game and his first touch is to put a shot wide from six yards out - from a totally unmarked position.

Leander Dendoncker was the man replaced by the Mexican.

    Man City 2-0 Burnley

That is a decent save from Nick Pope though, reacting well to beat clear a powerful stinger from Gabriel Jesus. Who looks sharp.

Seconds after a brilliant Arnold save, it is a great counter attack from Shrewsbury and Docherty has got himself down the right and Ruddy has just flapped at it.

    Shrewsbury 1-0 Wolves

A great save from Steve Arnold to deny Helder Costa an equaliser. The Portuguese really should have done better with his header from six yards out but it was an excellent reaction stop.

  8. goal

GOAL - Man City 2-0 Burnleypublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Bernardo Silva (52 mins)

And that miss is made even worse as Manchester City double their lead!

It's a nice sweeping move downfield, Kevin de Bruyne finds Bernardo Silva on the right of the area, he cuts inside on to his left foot and hits a powerful shot which takes a deflection and goes straight through Nick Pope. Should have done better.

Quite a few people were making their way back to their seats when Matej Vydra missed that glorious chance just then.

Someone shouted 'yes' as the Burnley forward hit his shot. Followed by a 'what' as it hit the side netting.

In fairness, they will not get a better chance.

  10. goal

GOAL - Middlesbrough 1-0 Newportpublished at 16:10 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Daniel Ayala (51 mins)

Can I just shock you? Tony Pulis' side have scored from a corner.

Dreadful goal to concede, Daniel Ayala is all over his man at the far post, could be a foul to be honest but he's allowed to flick a header in from about three yards out.

    Man City 1-0 Burnley

For all of Manchester City's dominance, it should be 1-1!

Matej Vydra is clean through on goal, it's a cliche but he maybe had too much time as he waited and waited, then hit the ball into the side-netting.

It was a dreadful mistake from Nico Otamendi actually. The last man just lost the ball.

We have just seen two examples of the mentality of the Shrewsbury players. Two dived in to block the corner and then when the ball is rolled back to Neves, three players put their bodies on the line to make Neves shoot over the crossbar.

Better from Watford as Andre Gray chases a punt over the top, gets there first too and heads it on, before crashing a rising shot over the top from 20-odd yards.

What a fantastic finish that was from Docherty. Okenabirhie was always chasing and scrambling, picked the right weight of pass and Docherty has absolutely smashed it into the net giving Ruddy no chance whatsoever.

Cupset? Shrewsbury lead in this sort-of derby.

Fejiri Okenabirhie surges forward from the halfway line and plays it right to Greg Docherty. The Rangers loanee hits a shot from a bit of a tight angle, it catches a deflection and flies into the roof of the net.
