    Accrington 0-0 Derby

The cliche of 'you wouldn't know which side is which' applies to this cup tie. Accrington well on top at the moment.

It was very good build-up, I didn't think they were going to be able to work the ball out to him, but he panics a little bit when he gets the chance.

Johnson's nickname is jigsaw...he falls apart in the box.

  4. CLOSE!published at 28 mins

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

More good play from Jordan Clark, who has impressed so far for Accrington. He has three Derby players on him but is able to spin out of a challenge and see the run of right-back Callum Johnson flying up on the overlap. He has loads of space, takes a touch and then hits it low and hard across goal.

Neither cross nor shot to be honest. But into a dangerous area.

Another good Accrington attack ends with Jordan Clark screwing a left-footed shot well wide in front of the Derby fans. Nothing between the sides as yet.

Just for a split second you think Derby have an opportunity and a shot on goal but it is a very, very good block from Mark Hughes.

Good player Mark Hughes. Was Everton's youth team captain. He played for Northampton for a bit and I once went to a fancy dress party where he was dressed as a shark.

Bit of added extra for you there. Good game this! But just the one effort on target so far.

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

Richard Keogh was the rather unlikely shootout hero in the last round for Derby - though he looked a bit unhappy to be described as such in his post-match chat - and the centre-half again shows he can turn it on when he needs to with a slaloming, Hansen-esque run from his own half.

It starts a period of Derby pressure which ends when Mark Hughes comes across and wins a fine tackle.

  9. Strong shape from Accringtonpublished at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Accrington have got a really good shape, the back three goes to five immediately when the ball goes into their half, and at the moment they haven't been drawn out by Derby's passing.

  10. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

Plenty of pressure from the hosts, as Sean McConville wins a free-kick in a dangerous area. Load up the box!

  11. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

Good move from Accrington again. They've been winning consistently at home for a good few seasons now so this strong start is no surprise to me. Janoi Donacien has started well on the left. Ipswich signed him last season but he's come back home on loan.

  12. 'Derby causing problems'published at 12:44 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Derby are causing quite a few problems down Accrington's right flank, they are getting overloaded and there isn't enough pressure on the attackers. That looks to be the best place for Derby to create chances.

  13. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

In my early days as a football reporter in the lower leagues I missed a fair few goals - some grounds you just can't see the far goal and there's no replays to bail you out. The press box just had to agree on a consensus.

    'Header? Yeah go with that.'

This game still being played at 2x speed.

Super ball, diagonal ball and after that I couldn't see a thing!

Tune in to Radio 5 Live to hear Mark Lawrenson struggling with the low press box at the Wham Stadium...

  15. CLOSE!published at 10 mins

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

Great chance Accrington now! They should score in fact! Sean McConville is free on the right, he puts in a belter of a cross and Jordan Clark is free at the back stick.

He doesn't know whether to head or volley it and in the end he sort of shins the ball square away from goal.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 8 mins

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

Best move of the game! Derby put together a very neat passing move, Mason Mount to the fore, it comes out to Scott Malone on the left and his cross is a good one.

Martyn Waghorn is free, heads down powerfully but Jon Maxted reads the bounce well and is able to push it clear. Good save!

  17. 'Like a match in the school playground'published at 12:38 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2019

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

There is only really David Nugent as a lone striker up against the back three of Accrington Stanley at the moment. It would be fair to say it's like a football match in the school playground where everyone is chasing the ball.

  18. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

Typically scrappy start to a game. Tackles flying in.

    Accrington 0-0 Derby

Well played Janoi Donacien, the Accrington defender spins out of a challenge and leads a Stanley charge but it breaks down, and Daniel Barlaser is then booked for a rugged challenge on Harry Wilson.

Watch out if Wilson gets over a free-kick anywhere near the Accy goal. The man has a left foot a wizard would be proud of.
