  1. goal

GOAL: Aston Villa 2-3 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 86 mins

    Tammy Abraham

    Wait a second...

Villa get another and, of course, it's Tammy Abraham with a goal at Villa Park.

Dean Henderson is once more guilty of not holding on to the ball as he only managed to parry out a shot from Tommy Elphick straight into the path of the waiting striker to tap home from five yards out.

What a turn up this could be!

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 85 mins

Tim: More atrocious officiating in the Championship, there needs to be something done about how poor they are at the moment. Offside and then a kick out of the keepers hands are allowed! Poor!

Daniel Francis: How was that second goal allowed to stand ? Offside, kicked out of the keepers hands and with studs showing. Disgraceful Refereeing once again in the Championship!

Matt Price: I know there's still 3 months to go of the season... But I reckon Leeds, Sheffield United and Norwich will be the three promoted teams!

    Aston Villa 1-3 Sheffield United

Villa almost in again through John McGinn straight after.

But, the midfielder is nowhere near the target and probably should've done a lot better there.

    Sheffield United just switching off.

  5. goal

GOAL: Aston Villa 1-3 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 81 mins

    Tyrone Mings

    Well then....

Villa do get a goal back and it's a first goal in four years for loanee Tyrone Mings.

A pretty innocuous looking corner from the right that Dean Henderson makes a terrible attempt at trying to gather and Mings rises high to head it home.

    Aston Villa 0-3 Sheffield United

Not on the evidence of that very wildly hit cross by Andre Green.

It goes out of play on the opposite side and several in the Holte End have seen enough after that and make an early exit.

This game is done and dusted. Just remains to be seen if Villa can find a consolation....

    Aston Villa 0-3 Sheffield United

David McGoldrick goes alone down the left with the cut inside and then shot for Sheffield United when he would've been better off squaring it to one of three waiting players in the middle.

  9. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Aston Villa 0-3 Sheffield United

Shall we dance? Tommy Elphick and Billy Sharp get in a bit of a tangle off the ball after the Villa centre-back clears the ball out of touch.

Fair to say Elphick not seeing anything on the funny side about the pattern of this game.

  16. Postpublished at 68 mins

    Aston Villa 0-3 Sheffield United

If the scoreline stays like this, it will do Sheffield United's goal difference the power of good.

They will go top on goal difference with the win and as it stands, they will have +22 compared to Leeds +16 and Norwich's +18.

Every little helps as they say....

In stark contrast to the wildly celebrating Yorkshiremen in the corner of the Witton Lane Stand, the Villa fans are not happy.

Already angered by the ref’s failure to give a free-kick when Jonathan Kodjia hit the turf dramatically at one end, they were then further maddened by Sharp’s second goal.

There’s no doubt he went in to poke the ball over the line with studs showing.

But there’s surely no argument about his third - other than in the Villa dressing room afterwards as to why the most dangerous player on the pitch was left unmarked for a free header at the far post.

    Game over.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 65 mins

    And there he is again!

It's a Billy Sharp hat-trick and there can be few complaints about this one.

Kieran Dowell with the pinpoint cross from the right to the back post that is perfectly on Sharp's head to nod in as he peels away from Alan Hutton's watch.

Sheffield United fans exuberant. Villa fans deflated.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 60 mins
