Origi was the hero off of the bench earlier on in the season...will there be another super sub here?

Theo: No creativity and final finish from Liverpool... Shaqiri needs to enter the fray

Chris: Well that was a dull half. Salah is going through a very unproductive time at the moment. Seems to be lacking a lot of confidence. This is a must win unlike last week. Early subs I reckon.

Here we go then. The game at Anfield was pretty bad as well wasn't it.

Alisson to throw a last-minute shot against the bar and Cenk to score a header?

  6. 'Fans' reaction makes me happiest'published at 17:11 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2019

    FT: Fulham 1-2 Chelsea

Fulham caretaker manager Scott Parker, speaking to Sky Sports: "We took them close. The first half we huffed and puffed but didn't get the control which we would have liked. We worked the last few days on trying to stamp our way on Chelsea. I just felt in possession we could have dominated in spells and in the first half we didn't do that. Second half it changed around and it was a lot better.

"We highlighted the threat they have in wide areas and with Higuain a natural finisher. The first goal was a great finish but we could defended it a little bit better.

"I was very proud of them [the players] today. It has been a big few days. It is a massive season with a lot of disappointments. My message at the start was that the fans look at us with pride and I have got a feeling they did that. That's what makes me happiest."

Chief football writer Phil McNulty: "Everton will be happy so far but it is Liverpool showing the flashes of attacking quality. Everton are not causing Liverpool any problems by simply launching towards Calvert-Lewin, who is getting no joy against Van Dijk.

"Liverpool look more likely to make the breakthrough."

Adam: If Liverpool can't beat this utter rabble then they might as well give up any notion of winning the Premier League

Antony: Everton playing less effective Big Sam football

Bresla: Awful game between awful teams, not living up to the hype yet again

  9. Is a draw a bad result?published at 17:06 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2019

    Everton 0-0 Liverpool

A draw means that as it stands, Manchester City remain top of the table.

For Everton, they stay 10th no matter what.

  10. 'Those in blue happier'published at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2019

    Everton 0-0 Liverpool

Former Everton winger Pat Nevin on BBC Radio 5 Live:

I think those in blue will be slightly happier than those in red at the moment. The one-on-one Salah had is the pick of the chances. Everton have given the ball away in midfield a couple of times and Liverpool haven't been at their best today.

Liverpool seem to have a belief that the opportunities and chances will come again and I won't be surprised if they do but they will need to finish them a lot better than Salah did for that chance.

I'm not the biggest stats evangelist but Theo Walcott's pasing accuracy in that half was 28.6%. Which is not far off just randomly kicking the ball blindfolded.

Jordan Pickford's was 29.6%. He just kept booming it out of play!

    Boring, boring derby.

The worst half of the five we've watched today.

A free-kick to Virgil van Dijk might be as good a route to goal as any at the moment but the giant Dutchman can't keep a header on target as he slides one wide.

  14. 'More like Liverpool'published at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2019

    Everton 0-0 Liverpool

Former Everton winger Pat Nevin on BBC Radio 5 Live:

That movement looked a lot more like Liverpool as Robertson got forward into the left wing position and put a good delivery in. We haven't seen enough of that in this first half.

I dread to think how many countries have spent who knows how much money to show this game across the world. It's not a classic.

Lucas Digne does do well at the back post to stop a cross reaching Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Jordan Pickford keeps booming long balls towards Dominic Calvert-Lewin but Virgil van Dijk wins those all day long. Theo Walcott does get a shot away for Everton but he slices it high and wide.

  17. Uncomfortable Evertonpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2019

    Everton 0-0 Liverpool

Former Everton winger Pat Nevin on BBC Radio 5 Live:

Everton are not that comfortable playing out from the back. If you don't play it out well you are just going to give Liverpool the ball back all afternoon. Sigurdsson has enough composure to play out and he can do that but he doesn't have enough options in front of him.

  18. 'Klopp looks more settled than Silva'published at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March 2019

    Everton 0-0 Liverpool

BBC Radio 5 Live's Gary Flintoff at Goodison Park: "Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp looks more settled than Everton boss Marco Silva in this first half. The two coaches are right at the edge of their technical areas, not that they are very big technical areas here at Goodison. Klopp has his hands in his pockets. Silva has his arms folded. Body language experts will tell me what that means?"

Excellent trickery from Mo Salah, who has come to life down the right. He skips past two men, comes inside, then goes outside and puts in a low cross which Morgan Schneiderlin clears away for a corner.

Everton are still to have a shot on goal. Plenty of play on the fringe of the Liverpool box but nothing for Alisson to do bar claiming one early cross.
