  1. 'Most consistent thing is their inconsistency'published at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2019

West Ham v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

    John Roder
    Match of the Day commentator

West Ham will start as strong favourites to win this match - if that comes to pass, it would make it three successive victories at the London Stadium and send Huddersfield closer to relegation.

And yet there's a feeling about the Hammers this season that the most consistent thing about them is their inconsistency.

New Huddersfield head coach Jan Siewert has spoken honestly about the performances since his arrival in January.

Although Huddersfield's return to the Championship is virtually a foregone conclusion, Siewert wants them to fight for everything in the matches that remain.

That could lead to a surprise result, especially if West Ham perform as they did when losing at Cardiff last weekend.

  2. Home advantagepublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2019

    Bournemouth v Newcastle (15:00 GMT)

Bournemouth's tally of 25 points at home is the most this season among clubs outside the top six.

Newcastle are winless in six away matches, earning just two points. They have only scored 11 goals in 17 Premier League away fixtures since last April.

Joshua King has scored four goals in his last four league games at home.

In all the euphoria of getting into Europa League it has really cost Burnley, it has taken them a long, long time to recover from that. I think they will be okay to stay up but it will be tight.

Burnley XI: Heaton, Taylor, Cork, Tarkowski, Mee, Gudmundsson, Barnes, Wood, Westwood, Bardsley, McNeil.

Heurelho Gomes is set to retire at the end of the season and has probably just played his last game at Vicarage Road.

He's helped send Watford through to the FA Cup semi-finals and there were tears of joy and probably sadness at full-time.

  9. Carroll on his way out?published at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2019

West Ham v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

Former England striker Andy Carroll may have played his last game for West Ham after another injury setback.

Carroll has already missed two games with an ankle injury and it is unlikely he will be fit before the end of the season.

While the Hammers have not made a final decision yet, it is expected they will not offer Carroll, 30, another deal when his contract ends in the summer.

    More on that here.

  10. Arnautovic back, full debut for teenager Rowepublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2019

West Ham v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

Marko Arnautovic is back in the good books of West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini.

The Austrian striker starts for the first time since 29 January, after being limited to appearances from the bench following his failed move to China and subsequent illness.

That's one of three changes for the Hammers, right-back Pablo Zabaleta and midfielder Michail Antonio also coming in, with Javier Hernandez, Ryan Fredericks and Robert Snodgrass dropping out.

Huddersfield have been ravaged with injuries, with only 15 players fit to train this week.

That means Jan Siewert has had to shuffle his pack again, making five changes from the defeat against Bournemouth last weekend.

That means a first start for 18-year-old attacking midfielder Aaron Rowe, while captain Tommy Smith returns from suspension. Terence Kongolo, Chris Lowe and Karlan Grant also start.

    Bournemouth v Newcastle (15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez: "If we can get three points in this game, I think we can keep pushing with more confidence and without maybe any fear that if you have a couple of bad results everything will be more difficult.

"If we do that, I think we can do much better; if we don't do that, we have to keep fighting like we have done already."

Burnley need to get something from this game, obviously, and I think they will. Leicester got their first win under Brendan Rodgers last week, against Fulham, and a point at Turf Moor would be a decent outcome for them.

  19. 'Newcastle have rolled back the years'published at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 16 March 2019

    Bournemouth v Newcastle (15:00 GMT)

    Tony Husband
    Match of the Day commentator

Victories for both sides last week mean the chances of relegation are almost non-existent for Bournemouth and slim for Newcastle.

Neither faces the most daunting of run-ins either so, privately at least, Eddie Howe and Rafa Benitez will have plenty of other goals on top of ensuring survival.

For Bournemouth, topping their 46-point haul in 2017 should be an aim. Ten points from their last eight games is a good bar to set.

Newcastle have rolled back the years at St James' Park in recent weeks but they have only won twice on the road. They need to harness the attacking flair which Almiron, Perez and Rondon have cultivated so well at home to improve their woeful goal tally away.

Achieve those aims and both managers will be pretty happy by May.
