  1. 'Questions of Everton's progress still unanswered'published at 12:19 Greenwich Mean Time 30 March 2019

West Ham v Everton (17:30 GMT)

    Steve Bower
    Match of the Day commentator

These two clubs started the season with new managers, optimism and investment - finishing as the 'best of the rest' was a realistic target. Despite their inconsistencies, seventh is still within reach.

West Ham have finally made the London Stadium feel like home, unbeaten in their last six there and aiming for a fourth home win in a row - albeit they still have defensive deficiencies to work on.

Everton's second-half performance against Chelsea last time out reminded Marco Silva what his team are potentially capable of; the huge frustration is that he hasn't witnessed that level often enough.

That win was only their second in seven games, and leaves them with an identical record from 12 months ago and questions of progress still unanswered.

  2. 'The joy has returned'published at 12:17 Greenwich Mean Time 30 March 2019

Man Utd v Watford (15:00 GMT)

    Jonathan Pearce
    MOTD commentator at Old Trafford

It's the perfect time for Manchester United to appoint Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as permanent manager. The decision has come as no surprise.

Solskjaer talks of it being his dream job. He feels at home. He knows what an honour it is to be at United. That boyish enthusiasm has transformed the place. The belief is back. The joy has returned.

The announcement now, after back-to-back defeats, shows the board has utter faith in him even in dodgy times. It can also fuel inject a late-season turbo drive, starting with Saturday's game.

  3. Good watch?published at 12:15 Greenwich Mean Time 30 March 2019

    Leicester v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Scott
MOTD commentator at the King Power Stadium

Eddie Howe says he's not surprised at the positive impact his good friend Brendan Rodgers has had since coming in at Leicester. Rodgers has guided the Foxes to within three points of seventh place and potential Europa League qualification, while also delivering a more enjoyable style of play for the fans.

Despite the fact a win would move Bournemouth level with Leicester, Howe insists his side are not safe from relegation just yet, with their away form a cause for concern - it was nine straight league defeats on the road before the win at rock bottom Huddersfield.

Famous last words but, given how both managers like to play, this should be a good watch.

  4. 'Last couple of games have left a sour taste'published at 12:12 Greenwich Mean Time 30 March 2019

Crystal Palace v Huddersfield (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton
    Commentator on BBC TV

Huddersfield could equal the record for the earliest Premier League relegation this weekend, yet it feels like a bigger game for Crystal Palace - they could still get dragged right back into the relegation battle, while we already know the Terriers' fate.

The last couple of games have left a sour taste for the Selhurst Park faithful. Defeat at home by rivals Brighton was followed by an FA Cup quarter-final exit at the hands of Watford.

Huddersfield opened their first Premier League campaign with a 3-0 win in this fixture last season. If they can repeat the feat it would be only their fourth win all season and leave Palace fans fearing an anxious final few games.

  5. Europa League for Wolves?published at 12:09 Greenwich Mean Time 30 March 2019

    Burnley v Wolves (15:00 GMT)

    Steve Wilson
    MOTD commentator at Turf Moor

Sean Dyche's 300th match as Burnley manager sees him attempting to end a run of four consecutive defeats which has plunged the Clarets right back into relegation danger - just as it seemed an eight-game unbeaten sequence had pulled them to relative safety.

The 18 points they earned in that purple patch from December to February may yet prove key - but Cardiff's visit to Turf Moor on 13 April will be underlined in red in Dyche's diary.

Wolves are hoping they might qualify for the Europa League by virtue of either winning the FA Cup or by finishing seventh and having Manchester City lift the Cup.

Wolves' season has been nothing short of spectacular; they are on course to finish higher than any newly-promoted team in the top flight since Sunderland in 2000.

  6. Another Ward-Prowse goal?published at 12:07 Greenwich Mean Time 30 March 2019

    Brighton v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Conor McNamara
    MOTD commentator at Amex Stadium

These clubs have delivered dramatic finishes in their previous two meetings this season. Charlie Austin's winner in the Carabao Cup came in the 88th minute, and Brighton snatched a draw in the league in September with a stoppage-time penalty from Glenn Murray.

Set-pieces are massively important for Brighton. Chris Hughton's side have scored more goals from free-kicks, corners, throw-ins and penalties combined than any other Premier League team this season.

Southampton hope that James Ward-Prowse's hot streak continues. Only Sergio Aguero and Sadio Mane have scored more Premier League goals than him in 2019.
