England's dreams of reaching their first Women's World Cup final were dashed as Steph Houghton's late penalty was saved in a dramatic semi-final loss to holders the United States.
Alex Morgan had given the USA a 2-1 lead after Ellen White had cancelled out Christen Press' opener in the first half.
And in a dramatic second-half, White had a goal disallowed for offside before winning the penalty which Houghton could not convert.
